Azrael Indarth Pov

Caera lunged forward and clashed her sword against my swords. Pushing Caera, I spun around and swung my swords. Caera quickly brought up her swords to defend, but it was a faint attack as I aimed a kick at her right side.

Caera expected that and brought up her sword, blocking my kick before stabbing forward with her sword. I tilted my body, avoiding Caera's attack before trapping her arm under my own.

Caera tossed her sword from her right hand to her left before trying to swing, but I spun her around, trapping her arm behind her back. Caera gasped as I twisted her arm.

"Do you surrender?" I asked.

Caera blushed as her eyes widened with a smirk plastered on her face. "I wasn't expecting Azrael Indarth to take advantage of this situation like this."

"What do-" I started before my eyes widened, realizing my lower part was erect.

"Gah." I released Caera, taking a few steps back in shock.

Caera quickly took advantage of the moment and spun around. I couldn't react as Caera kicked the back of my ankle, making me trip before stabbing the sword into the ground next to my head.

"I wasn't expecting you to be a masochist." Caera giggled as she extended a hand to me.

I graciously accepted her hand and grumbled. "I'm not."

"Sure, sure." She smirked as she mocked.

"I didn't know Virtra blooded learn how to mock." I groaned.

"And I didn't think you'd be a masochist." Caera shrugged.

"I'm not a masochist!" I yelled out in protest.

Caera was about to say something, but a tall man with purple and black runes suddenly appeared, making her shut her mouth. I sighed as I stored the wooden swords in my dimensional ring.

"Are you two done copulating?" Uriel asked as he took on a physical form.

"We're not copulating!" Caera and I shouted.

"Good. Azr-" Uriel's mouth was moving, but I couldn't hear anything.

It felt like everything slowed down as my vision grew blurry. I couldn't hear anything over the sound of my own heartbeat. Suddenly, my legs started to feel heavy as I fought to keep myself standing.

"-And Sylvie are back." Those words felt like a lighthouse in the middle of a foggy ocean.

I quickly rushed outside the training room, not preparing anything as my emotions took control of me. I ran without hesitation and without a destination.

All I knew was that I had to find her.

"Azrael, wait!" I heard Caera shout, but I ignored her and rushed outside.

I closed my eyes and looked for her mana signature. I couldn't feel it earlier. I only felt it when Uriel appeared in the training room.

I felt her mana signature on the outskirts of the town and didn't hesitate to rush there. I couldn't hear the constant bustling activity from the people over my own erratic heartbeat.

Finally, I saw a platinum-haired girl standing on top of a rock with a dazed expression as she stared at the artificial sky. Two black horns came out of the sides of her temples and seemed to be absorbing the surrounding light.

"Sylvie!" I called out, running forward.

As the platinum-haired little girl turned around and saw me, tears began to well up in her eyes. "Azrael!"
