Cathan Leywin Pov
I punched the air, and the wind mana reacted by sending the shockwave through the air, but it missed its target and destroyed a tree. I stomped one of my feet, and the earth mana launched me upward.
I did a backflip in the air, and the fire mana gathered near my feet and shot outward towards my target. I created a small vacuum that pulled my target towards it.
"You'll have to do better than that!" Ellie taunted as she fired three arrows at me and one at a nearby tree.
I could see a rope connecting her bow and the arrow. The pure mana rope tightened and pulled Ellie away from the vacuum dragging her towards its center.
"Smart," I commented.
I snapped my finger, creating another vacuum. The tree Ellie used to drag herself away was pulled from the ground and towards the air vacuums. Ellie was also getting dragged towards my spell.
"This isn't funny anymore!" Ellie screamed as she hung onto the ground for dear life.
"I find it pretty funny." I retorted, snapping my finger again.
The two air vacuums began moving closer and fused into a cyclone. Ellie could barely hang on against the air vacuums, and now she was being hurled around by my spell.
I snapped my finger again, canceling my spell as Ellie was launched into the air while screaming. I snapped my finger again, manipulating the air to land her softly.
"Did you have to do that?" Ellie grumbled as she stood back up.
"You're the one who wanted to spar against me." I shrugged. "Dark yellow at your age is impressive, Ellie, and you're strong! Good job, Ellie!
"Thank you." Ellie smiled from the praise.
"As a reward, I'll teach you something you might be able to recreate," I stated.
"Is it how to fly? Or how to create teleportation gates?" Ellie's face brightened as I said this.
I flicked her forehead to stop her rambling. "You'll learn to do that when you become a white core mage. What I'm going to teach you is something far more potent."
"Do you really think I can become a white-core mage?" Ellie asked while rubbing her forehead.
"Sure you can." I grinned. "But let's focus for now."
"Right, what will you teach me?" Ellie was practically jumping in excitement.
"I'm going to teach you how to make a golem," I stated as Ellie's expression crumbled.
"What's the use of that?" Ellie looked as if her soul was leaving her body.
"You're an archer, so learning to create golems to defend you is very useful." I waggled my finger. "I'm not going to teach you how to create some magma or earth golem."
"What then?" Ellie sighed.
I snapped my finger, creating a golem from water. I demonstrated my control by making seven golems that all had unique movements. Next, I turned the golems into ice and continued controlling them.
"But I'm not an elemental mage." Ellie's shoulders slumped down in defeat.
"You don't have any elements, but you do have something else." I hinted.
"Pure mana?" Ellie created a small arrowhead above her palm.
"Yes, but it's hard. Even I won't be able to do it." I grinned.
