We did it.

We officially conquered the whisperers and now we can finally live in peace. We don't have to go through anymore shit.

It feels so damn good to say that. It's about time that something like that can be said.

After everything that we went through, we can finally just be a family.

That sounds amazing.

We were almost there to Alexandria and Alden was carrying Adam.

"I'm thinking that once we get home, we can give Adam a bath and then we can have some much needed time together." Alden spoke up as he looked at me.

I smiled. "That sounds like a terrific idea."

Family time is the best time.

The more that we walked to Alexandria, I just began to realize that our lives are finally coming together.

And it felt great.

Just myself with Alden and Adam.

"What the hell?" I heard someone say from beside me and saw that it was my brother, Aaron.

"What is it?" I asked him, confused.

I was in my own thinking bubble to be paying attention to what other people were talking about or what they were seeing. I was too caught up in my own world to realize what was really happening.

But now my eyes are wide open.

Everyone that had walked to Alexandria looked ahead and saw what had happened. And it was painful to see.

Alexandria got destroyed.

Some walls on houses were torn off and some parts of the ceiling as well. The windmill was destroyed. It seemed like it wasn't Alexandria anymore because of how it was looking.

Hilltop was burned down not that long ago and now Alexandria gets torn apart.

Does this have to happen right now?

"How could any of this happen?" Alden asked as he looked over at Aaron and Father Gabriel.

"It was them." Gabriel said. "The whisperers did this."

Even when we conquer the whisperers, they come back and retaliate and do this to our home. Especially my brother's home. He's lived here longer than I have.

"Let's just check this place out and then we'll talk about it." My brother said and he went past the gate.

I gave a look to Alden before following my brother. I can hear Alden's footsteps behind me.

Alden and I went straight to our shared house and it was torn apart as well. Part of the roof was falling off, and a window or two was broken. A wall had multiple cracks in it and I was completely scared to see a wall crumble down.

I saw Alden opening the door. "They've been in here."

Wait, what?

I followed Alden into the house and it seemed like it was normal at first. Until it wasn't.

"Shelby, come over here." Alden said from our room.

I'm completely scared. I went in the direction of where our shared room was and when I went into our room, I was shocked to see a hole the size of a bowling ball in our wall. But there were multiple ones.

Also the ceiling in our shared room was tearing apart as well.

"What did they throw at the walls?" I asked.
