Chapter 48

*Shelby's P.O.V*

|6 years later|

"Mom! Dad said that we can play that game that Hershel showed us." I heard my son, Adam say as his younger brother was next to him.

And yes, you heard that right. Adam has a brother.

I was pregnant during the war with the reapers and when Alden and I had decided to join Maggie in rebuilding at living at Hilltop, she's been a great help because she was pregnant too during the apocalypse.

Adam's brother's name is Holland.

It's in honor of Alden's older brother.

Alden has said that if he ended up having a kid that was a boy then he wants to name him after his brother and I thought that was a great idea.

Adam is currently six years old and Holland is five years old.

"Where's Hershel?" I then asked my two sons.

"He's inside right now." Holland said. "He was asking Aunt Maggie for the game."

I nodded. "Okay then just wait for him to come outside."

I watched on as my two sons went to play on the side and I went to look at Alden who was at the blacksmith station.

We've decided to continue blacksmithing, Alden and I, in honor of Earl.

And I almost forgot to mention, Alden and I are now married. He had a ring ready and then he asked me to marry him. That happened after a year when we came back to Hilltop.

My husband was busy at work and when he looked up, he gave me a smile and then I smiled back at him.

You're probably wondering what happened to the rest of the group? Well, where do we start?

My brother, Aaron, still lives in Alexandria. He continued to fight for the community and he was able to rebuild it, just like we did with Hilltop. He had mentioned another community that was named the Commonwealth.

People like Daryl, Rosita, Father Gabriel, King Ezekiel, Carol, and some others live in the Commonwealth.

Alden and I knew that we didn't want to be in the Commonwealth.

We wanted to stay at Hilltop with Maggie and other people who decided to stay here as well. People such as Lydia and Elijah.

I've met some of the people who were in charge of the Commonwealth.

I've met Lance Hornsby, Mercer, and Pamela Milton.

To me, it was kind of weird to meet someone who had the same name as my dead brother but I tried to not pay attention to that when I was meeting him.

Mercer was a nice guy when I met him and I just had a brief meeting with Pamela.

The commonwealth sometimes tends to offer food for us even though we've started having more food.

We rebuilt Hilltop. It's doing well.

And Negan? The last time I saw him was when we were in that church when Alden got hurt by the reaper.

Apparently to my brother, he thinks that Negan died and he probably did. I don't know.

Even Magna has died as well. I was told that she got shot in the head when she was on a run. She was with Carol when it happened and I remember how I had gotten that news when Daryl and Carol came here.

Luke also died after Magna. He died after he got swarmed by a bunch of walkers. He came here after he was at Oceanside and a group went on a run and came back with unfortunate news.
