*Shelby's P.O.V*

I've officially lost it. Since I've been back at Alexandria after that trip to Hilltop, I haven't been myself.

I've gone a few days without eating, I haven't got any rest. Even when my eyes are telling me to go to bed, I just won't do it. Not without Alden by my side and he has his arms wrapped around me.

Aaron has been staying with me so that he can keep an eye on me. Gracie is also staying because that's my brother's daughter so she can't be by herself in their own house.

Gracie is currently asleep on the couch with a pillow and a blanket.

Alden and I have a comfortable couch. No wonder why we were always on it.

Aaron was currently frying up frog legs. He's still trying to get me to eat before I head to bed.

That's what he thinks is happening but I just stare at the wall all night thinking about Alden.

You probably wonder how I haven't fallen asleep while doing that? Well... let's just say that I am used to staying up pretty late and I completely mastered the skill of staying awake even when you watch paint dry.

Such a proud moment.

Haha, not really. I just don't want to go to bed without Alden.

Getting out of my thinking stage, Aaron placed the food in front of me. "Eat the damn frog legs, Shelby."

I shook my head. "I'm not eating. I'm not even hungry."

"Don't bullshit me." Aaron gave me a look.

"Then don't pressure me."

"I'm trying to not make you starve yourself. You've gone days without eating and I know you always say that you want to make sure that Adam is eating. Well, he is and Alden would be happy about that. Alden would also be happy if you eat something." He explained.

"Look at you, acting like a babysitter." I sassed him.

"You're lucky I'm not an actual babysitter."

"Oooh." I said, acting like I'm scared.

I playfully laughed at my brother while he seemed so annoyed with me. But even when I'm playfully laughing, it doesn't help with how sad I feel since my boyfriend isn't here right now.

"You don't even have to eat the whole thing. Just eat one, please." Aaron begged.

If it makes him that damn happy then fine. I grabbed one of the frog legs and took a bite out of it. The frog leg tastes like chicken.

Something that I've heard many people tell me before.

"What kind of seasoning did you use?" I then asked him.

"Just salt and pepper." My brother shrugged. "Then I used some bread crumbs to coat it."

"It's good." I said and went to grab another frog leg.

It's funny how I said I was only going to have one frog leg but then I ended up having another. I guess I am pretty hungry but didn't want to admit it.

Aaron smiled. "And after dinner, you have to get some rest."

"I don't want to rest."

There's a reason why I don't go to sleep. It's because I'm scared that if I go to sleep, I will have a nightmare about Alden. It's pretty scary.

"You need rest, Shelby. It's been days since you've slept." He said.

"I don't care." I said.

"Well, I do."
