*Shelby's P.O.V*
"RUN!" I heard Duncan yell.
I was breathing hard because I was scared. So much shit was happening all at once and I didn't know how to calm down.
Alden knew that we needed to run so I let him hold my hand and then pull me but then as we got to another tree, Alden got a knife thrown in his arm and then I had a knife thrown at me, cutting my forehead.
Then I looked to the side and saw Cole got his throat slit which means he's dead.
"We have to get out of here." I cried out to Alden.
"Come on, babe." He said and then we ran out of the woods and onto the road.
We just walked along the trail while I was continuously looking in every direction in case we got jumped.
"I'm scared, Alden." I said. "We almost died."
"I know, I know." He softly said as I was still letting tears fall down my face.
I couldn't calm down. Everything was scaring me right now.
Alden took the knife that was in his arm out and then he turned to look at me. His face held all kinds of concern.
"You're bleeding." He said as he tried to find some tissue or a cloth.
He couldn't find it but then tore a piece of cloth off his shirt and then he dabbed my forehead to make the blood stop running.
"That's going to leave a scar." I said.
Alden nodded. "Yeah."
The blood had started to dry so then Alden stopped dabbing my forehead and then we continued our walk.
We didn't even know where we were going. We were just walking.
But hey, if walking meant we were no longer near that place with whatever that group was called then that's fine. We'll be fine.
I mean, we have to be fine, right?
—--
It was the next day and yeah, we've been walking all night. We haven't stumbled across any group, only walkers which we took care of quickly.
And now we were just trying to find some place to stay at for now.
"Is there any place in sight?" I asked as I was taking a sip of water from my canteen.
"I see a place up there." Alden pointed.
I looked in the direction of where he was pointing at and then nodded. So we'll walk towards there and then we can try to see where we can sit to rest up.
"How's your arm?" I then asked him.
"It hurts a little." He said, "But I can deal with the pain. It's not like how it was hurting before."
All I had was dried blood on my forehead and like I said, it was definitely going to leave a scar on there.
"Here." Alden then stopped and he got some water from his own canteen.
He put some water in his hand and then smoothly wiped the blood off of my forehead. Now there was only a red mark there where anyone could see.
But it's all good now.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yeah. I'm okay if you're okay."
"I'm okay." He assured me with a small smile.
I smiled as well and then planted a kiss on his lips. He kissed back a little bit before we pulled away and then we continued walking.
I guess you can say we are now getting our alone time but this isn't what we were talking about when we said we needed one on one time with each other.
