*Shelby's P.O.V*
"Hey, Shelby." I heard someone say and I turned to see Rosita approaching me with something in her hands. "I have some bottles of baby food that you can have for Adam. Carol and I found a case when we were on the run and we know that he needs food as well."
I smiled. "Thank you."
She handed me five jars of baby food which consisted of bananas, carrots, apples, sweet potato, and pear.
"If you ever need more, just let me know." Rosita smiled before she walked over to where Gabriel was at.
It was a nice gesture from her because Alden and I are being limited now to how much of the baby formula that we give Adam.
We don't have enough and Adam still needs to eat.
Alden keeps suggesting that we start giving him water but I still wasn't sure.
I'm sure babies could have water but we might have to go to that option pretty soon so that Adam stays healthy.
I carried the jars of baby food to mine and Alden's shared house and I saw that Alden was fixing part of the ceiling.
"What is that?" He asked once he saw something in my hands and he walked over to me.
"Baby food." I said and went to put it in the cabinet. "Rosita and Carol found a case when they were on a run and gave us some. Plus, if we ever need more then all I have to do is ask."
"That's good." He nodded.
Adam was currently asleep because it was time for his afternoon nap.
Oh, the joys of taking a nap right now.
"How is the construction going?" I then asked Alden.
"It's getting there. It's keeping my mind off of the shit that's happening."
Alden has been beyond frustrated with the situation that we currently live in. We're low on food and Alexandria has been destroyed. Plus, Maggie's group has come as well so there's three different communities living here and we don't have enough food at all. We probably have a 24 can case of vegetables and fruit and that's about it.
Maggie had brought Elijah, who I already met and she has another group member named Cole. I met him when they first arrived here and I saw her son, Hershel, for the first time in six to seven years.
That may seem like that's a lot but let's remember the world that we live in. It's not enough for three communities.
We don't have much bread or jam anymore. We don't have a garden. Our home has been destroyed.
I'm trying to be positive about this but I'm sure soon enough, I'll completely snap.
"Do you need any help?" I asked, walking over to him.
"Hold this, please." He said as he handed me a hammer.
I held it for him just as the front door of our house opened and there stood my brother.
"What's up?" I asked him.
"Father Gabriel and I are gonna be heading out on a run to try and find some more food." He said. "I just wanted to let you know."
I nodded. "Okay. I already know that I'm not tagging along. I would think that my boyfriend and son need me."
Aaron smiled, looking over at Alden. "Take care, you guys. See you soon."
"Bye Aaron." Alden said.
"Bye." I said, giving my brother a hug before he went out the door and he was getting ready for his run.
