*Shelby's P.O.V*

I was getting my horse ready because I was heading to Alexandria today. I thought it was time to pay the community another visit so that's what I'm doing for the whole day until I come back home.

"So you're heading to Alexandria today?" I heard someone ask me and I turned around to see Alden there.

I nodded and smiled. "Yeah. You wanna come with me?"

"I would love to. But Earl has me working today. He needs my help with a certain part. But I'll be here when you get back. Maybe we can hang out later tonight."

"I would love that. It'll be fun."

Alden and I have definitely gotten closer the past few days. I never thought that would happen but hey, miracles do happen.

And the more that we hung out, the more that I was falling for him. I wasn't sure what he would be thinking when we hang out but he seems to be happy with my company. He smiles more and he's opening up more as well. Just yesterday, he was telling me about what he remembers of his father. That he remembers that his father wasn't a great father and he knows that Earl is a better father than his own. Since Earl is taking care of baby Adam.

And he even continues to tell me more of his construction and engineering background, something he had before the apocalypse started. I knew that because he explained some of it but I learned some more of his background.

I've explained before that I don't remember much of my father, and even my mother. I remember my brother Lance and obviously, I still have Aaron in my life. He's the only family that's blood related to me still alive in this shitty world.

I got onto my horse and made sure I had everything. I was all ready to go.

"Hey, Shelby." Alden called.

I turned around and looked at him. "Yeah?"

"Be safe out there."

I nodded. "I will, I promise."

He gave me a lovely smile before the gates of Hilltop were opened and I was on the gravel road, on the way to Alexandria.

The trip to Alexandria by horse doesn't take long. It may only take a long time if I spend the majority of the time thinking. Which always happens with me because I have a lot on my mind.

Alden, the whisperers, my brother, and this whole world tends to keep my mind busy.

I wanna see what happens next with Alden. I mean, sure, we can just be friends and everything but I want to be more than friends with him. But what if he doesn't want that? Especially after he lost Enid.

But then it seems like he wants to continue talking to me and being around me.

He won't ever be over Enid's death. I mean, I'm still not over everyone else's death that we've all lost.

But would he be willing to start something with me? I'm starting to doubt that and I hate having that thought.

With a sigh, I continued riding the horse on the path to Alexandria and soon enough, I made it there. The gates were opened and I was welcomed inside. My brother immediately saw me and approached me.

"Hey, I didn't know you were coming here." He said and then gave me a hug.

"Surprise." I smiled and then hugged him back.

While I was hugging Aaron, I saw Negan by the garden. I really need some more advice from him.

When we pulled away from the hug, Aaron looked in the direction that I was looking at and then looked back at me.
