Chapter 37

*Alden's P.O.V*

The rest of the group and myself made it inside the bus and then I immediately grabbed Shelby's hand.

"I got you." I gently told her.

She smiled and then pressed a kiss to my cheek.

"I love you." She said.

"I love you too."

I see Duncan currently trying to open the door and Gabriel was killing walkers that were inside the bus.

There weren't a lot of walkers, like about two or three. It's not too bad.

Then Negan came inside the bus and I was just looking at him with a bit of a glare on my face.

I looked back at the group and then said to Negan. "Where's Maggie?"

"She was-She was right behind me." Negan said.

I'm not entirely sure if I believe him or not. He may be telling the truth or he may not be. I don't really know.

There were noises coming from outside of the bus, so it must've been the walkers.

"Someone boost me up." I said.

I was planning on helping Maggie to come back here.

"You go out there, you're dead." Frost said. "She'll be pissed if you try. She would want us to keep moving forward."

"We need to get that door open." Gabriel said. "Then we'll go car to car till we hit the front of the bus and hop off. Then we just keep going."

"Look out guys." Negan said as he went to try and open the door with a crowbar.

Negan was able to get the door that he was trying to open, opened and we went inside another part of the bus where there was another door.

"While you guys handle that one, I'll take over." I heard Negan say.

Then we heard a noise.

"Was that the roof?" I asked.

"Walkers." Negan said.

Then the noise happened again and I knew exactly what it was.

"It's below us. It's morse code, it's SOS." I said.

Shelby was standing next to me while all of this was happening. She also had a look of confusion on her face.

The door that was on the floor had been opened and then there was Maggie.

Then Maggie stood up and went over to Negan and she slapped him in the face with the gun that was in her hand.

"I slipped. He saw and he left me to die." Maggie said.

"Look, I- So what?" Negan said.

'You're just admitting it?" Gabriel questioned him.

"He tried to kill her." I said and then Shelby gently put her hand on my arm to calm me down.

"No, she was in trouble and I didn't help. There's a big difference." Negan said.

Then all of a sudden, I saw Duncan grab Negan and pushed him against the wall aggressively.

"Hey, we don't need to be doing this right now." Shelby said.

"She's the only one who has your back." Duncan said to Negan. "No one else has your back."

"Stop." Shelby said, stepping in.

"Shelby, I got this." Negan said.

I have a feeling that Shelby is annoyed by all of this and I honestly don't blame her. She doesn't get that mad at me whenever I do it but if other people do then she gets annoyed.
