1) Meeting the Commonwealth

*Shelby's P.O.V*

I was standing next to Alden as he held Adam in his arms as Maggie was on top of a platform, talking to Daryl.

About what exactly? I don't know.

I don't even know who's here besides Daryl.

But I wanna take a really good guess that it's the people who lives at the Commonwealth.

That's another community that our people have met.

I haven't met them yet.

"So what's really going on?" Alden asked me as he kept a hold on Adam.

"I don't know." I said.

Alden and I have been living at hilltop for about a month now. After we came back to Alexandria after the mission, we came right back here.

Alden is healing everyday.

His wound doesn't hurt as much anymore and it's no longer red. He still takes medicine in case it does end up hurting really bad.

But he's recovering.

"What is Maggie doing?" I heard Alden say and when I looked up ahead, I saw Maggie give a signal to Elijah and then the gate of Hilltop was being opened.

I saw Daryl walk in first who was wearing his regular attire.

And then I saw other people.

I saw a man who has black hair wearing a grey and pink suit. He was certainly dressed for the part if he was at a meeting.

Then there was a woman who has short hair, white hair and she was also wearing a suit.

Then there was another man wearing an orange suit that was armor where you would think this was a Star Wars movie.

Other people had the same armor on but it was white.

Who are these people?

"Hello." The man in the grey suit said. "I'm Lance Hornsby."

Oh, another Lance. The last time I heard that name was when I last saw my brother before he died.

He has the same name as my dead brother.

"I'm Shelby." I said and then pointed to Alden. "And this is my boyfriend Alden and our son Adam."

"Lovely to meet you guys, it's an honor." Lance smiled.

I gave a smile back but it was hard to really figure out what Lance was thinking.

Behind his smile, it seemed very sinister.

I wasn't sure what to think.

"You guys have a lovely home." Lance looked around.

"If you don't mind me asking, why are you at hilltop?" Alden asked Lance.

"I wanted to offer you a proposal." He said but then stopped yourself. "I'm sorry, excuse me. We wanted to offer you a proposal."

I saw Lance turned his head and then the woman that was with him stood next to him. So I'm guessing this is who he was also saying.

"Governor Pamela Milton." Lance introduced her to us.

"Hi, I'm Shelby." I shook her hand.

"Alden." Then Alden shook her hand.

"We wanted to offer you guys a proposal and see if you guys want to join the commonwealth." Lance said.

"Is that right?" I asked and they both nodded.
