      Fire lay there, basking in the light. Every inch of his being loved it here, resting on his bed. He was curled up, with his back to the opened window that made up the back wall of his room. One of the perks of being one of the Elemental Eight, his room could open up to the center of the Orb of the Suns. This allowed the light from its very core to flood his room, when his window was open and not closed for privacy, of course.

      But right now, it was open. Fire's eyes were closed, and he was just there. How long he lay there before he felt the need to move was impossible to say. He sighed, stretching out. His arms extended out to their full length, clawed hands balled into a fist. He curled his tail around his left leg and stretched out his walking instruments as well.

      With a groan, Fire rolled out of his bed, his feet landing on the gray and white quartz floor.  He stretched out his wings, red with small black patches, and draconic in form. He ran to the window and jumped out, spreading those very same wings wide. He crossed to the other side of the hollow center of The Orb, and into the throne room of Light.

     "Hello, Light," Fire spoke, his words calm and even. "I was wondering if you had anything for me to do?"

      Light glanced up at Fire from the book he was reading. Light was a dragon, in every sense of the word. He was large, larger than any of the other Suns. Though most Suns and Shadows were bipedal, it wasn't unheard of for some to be quadrupeds, like Light was. Light had two dragon wings on his back, and he seemed to be made entirely out of white light, that somehow gave the illusion of detail. Capable of using the powers of all the Suns as well as manipulating light itself, the beast that stood in front of Fire, the leader of all the Suns, was certainly someone to be feared.

      If not for the fact that Light was a giant softy who acted more like a kind grandfather to the everyone than anything.

     Light smiled a many toothed grin. "No, Fire, I am afraid I don't."

     Fire opened his mouth, about to speak, when Light cut him off: "No Shadows encroached on our territory, no fights in the outer districts, and no problems with anything."

      Fire closed his mouth, forced to accept that there was absolutely nothing for him to do. "Well what should I do then?" He asked Light.

      Light shrugged his wings. "Go explore the universe or something. I don't know."

      Well it's something to do, Fire begrudgingly thought to himself. Who knows, maybe I can finally go see one of these "black hole" things.

                                                                                  * * *

      Mind pressed his head into his legs. Block them out, he thought, Just block them out.

      It sometimes worked, blocking out the thoughts of his fellow Shadows, the awful thoughts they could come up with. Not to mention Cold... he was currently hiding from her for a reason. Mainly, just not wanting to deal with her right now. Which was fine right? Not to want to be near her? Probably. Maybe.

       Mind groaned as people passed by on the other side of the wall he was hiding behind. Their thoughts swirled around in his head.

      Maybe I'll eat tonight.

      I hope Dark notices me.

     I wonder if Wish will like this bracelet.

     Mind had to get away. Leave the Orb of the Shadows, if he wanted some peace for his own thoughts, then that was what he had to do.
