Taking a step backwards, Fire tried to redirect Water and Art's gazes away from his bed and to the side. Hopefully if the pair wasn't staring right at Mind's hiding spot that would lessen the chance of them seeing him. "Why have you been looking for me?" Fire nervously chuckled. Maybe they wouldn't realize that he was nervous? Was that too much to ask?

It apparently was. Even as Fire spoke, Water crossed his arms. "You're acting weird," the sun declared. Great. Fire's different tone of voice was apparent. Maybe his friend would think it was nothing? After all, being a little bit high pitched and not as aggressive and annoyed as he normally was when Water was in the vicinity couldn't have been too weird, could it have. "Did something happen?"

Quickly, Fire shook his head no. Repeatedly and many times. He found himself backing up all the way to his white bed. A look of panic crossed his face, and he could see Water's eyebrows go partly up as the sun noticed. Hopelessly, Fire tried to recover from the slip up with a nonchalant smile. "N-no. Nothing happe-"

"You're a horrible liar," Water declared. Didn't even let the other nexus force finish his sentence. Simply straight up said it. Well no one could say that Water wasn't blunt.

Behind Water, Art nodded in agreement. The colorful sun folded their arms, "He's not wrong," they agreed. Fire wanted to snark that everyone was against him in this conversation, but honestly backing up your date made a lot of sense. Also he was a bit concerned as to what friendly retribution may come from the remark.

Quickly, Fire weighed his options. He could chase the pair away, make up a lie that might buy Mind enough time to figure out what to do, stall for time, or just tell his friends the truth. Although, he wasn't quite sure what stalling for time or lying would accomplish. There weren't exactly any better hiding places in his room than where Mind was now.

Then there were words in Fire's head. Mind's signature telepathy. Which did take him by surprise this time and make him jump a little bit. To which Water raised both of his eyebrows. That was how skeptical he was. Not just one eyebrow was raised. Both were raised. Should I come out?

Fire hesitated before he replied. Both Water and Art were watching him, waiting for his next move. He knew that he looked frozen with indecision, like he wanted to bolt. I-I mean they're good people. I don't think they won't give us a chance to explain. But...they'll freak out. Also, we're gonna tell them eventually with Light... he trailed off. He didn't want to be the one to say that Mind should reveal himself, but he didn't see a point in that not happening either. Give me a chance to kick them out first.

Quickly, before Water or Art could say anything or figure anything out, Fire spoke up. "W-Well as much as this has been fun, I have some stuff I need to get done. So, um, if you could just leave that'd be grea-" he was cut off before he could finish. Which was quite honestly less than surprising. Even if it was a bit disheartening and annoying, it was still expected.

With a sigh, Art spoke up. "Come on now, Fire. I don't think you're fooling anyone." Before the aforementioned sun had a chance to back away, Art put their hand on his shoulder. Although they had a kind look in their eyes, Fire knew that Water's SO could also be quite vicious. Especially when it came to their art, and especially especially when it came to their flower arrangements.

Nodding, Water agreed. "Yeah. We're not going anywhere. Curiosity will get the better of us and we are fine with that." Well this was a bust. Neither of Fire's friends seemed to have any intention to leave. It was none of their business what was going on, but they were still staying on the off chance that he needed help. Or they both were just super curious. It was one of the two.
