Quadra was quiet.
There wasn't much sound in the room, just the quiet humming of Ruin Pandora in the bey dish. Her brother was carefully watching, eyes fastened on the bey. Pax was looking for anything even slightly wrong with his partner's spin or speed or whatever. He was silent as well.
Both brother and sister were lost in thought. After all, today was the day. They were going up against the Snakes for the title of best junior team in North America. Quite a title. And there couldn't have been a more worthy opponent for her and the Raging Bulls to defeat. The team that was once under the dominion of Quadra's uncle. Now led by the two best bladers the world had ever seen. And their son was even on the team! Definitely going to be a show for the ages.
There was a woosh as the door opened. Looking up, Quadra wasn't surprised to see Swing or Virginia walk in. Before she could even register the third person who'd entered, however, Virginia spoke up. "I call ref!" The third Bulls' blader declared, running over to the bey stadium. Apparently, someone was expecting a battle.
It was looking like someone was intending to battle as well! A third blader had accompanied Quadra's teammates. One wearing a cape and mask, a costume created from black and stars. Their hair didn't show underneath their hood, but their expression did. Strong and determined, but also a little bit humorous. They were taking this seriously, but not the end of the world seriously.
"And who are you?" Pax asked, beating Quadra to the punch. It was fine with her, however. If she was the one who ended up battling, then maybe it would be good to have this mysterious masked blader know as little about her as possible. Even how she spoke.
A knowing smile came from the strange person. "You may call me the Masked Blader," she stated. Well. The Masked Blader. Quadra almost smiled, if not for the fact she'd met one too many eccentric blader. Anyone could dress up with a fancy pseudonym. Not anyone could actually hold a candle to her.
Then again, it wasn't a good idea to underestimate anyone. No matter how cocky, overconfident. Nor how long they'd been playing. Under or overestimating anyone wasn't a good idea. Quadra didn't form opinions, she played her best.
Standing up, the Raging Bulls' captain fingered with the strings of her hoodie. "I assume you're here because you wish to battle us?" She asked, walking up to the stadium. In front of her, Pax held out his hand, and Ruin Pandora leapt up into his hand. "Or are you here to spy on us?" Quadra glared this Masked Blader in the eyes, as much as she could at least. There was a chance that one of the Snakes had dressed up in disguise. Perhaps the girl in front of her was that blue haired one, Den.
As the Masked Blader crossed over, she nodded. "I'll admit, I am connected to the Snakes. But I'm not one of them, and I'm only here to sate my personal curiosity," the star speckled blader declared. Hmm. Quadra wasn't sure what to make of this now. Because on the one hand, her opponent had been honest with her. On the other hand, was the Masked Blader fully telling the truth? Or just trying to gain some level of trust.
The skepticism must have been showing on Quadra's face. Not everyone's out to get you, partner, Pandora whispered in her head. The turquoise haired blader almost chuckled. Someone other than her seemed quite interested in this battle. Alright. She could put away her suspicion for a little while.
Slipping on her headphones, Quadra smiled as she clicked their center. In one motion, she yanked her hoodie strings, letting her outfit change from sweatpants to something that nearly resembled a superhero costume. Which her team had laughed at her for on more than one occasion. But the Masked Blader didn't laugh. If anything, she seems impressed, Quadra realized as she pulled out her launcher. "We're only having one battle. Tie or burst or whatever," she announced.
