Just a bit of being startled do to...negative romantic relationships. And some societal expectations, from the paragraph after the paragraph after Fire asks Mind what he's doing there, to the end of Mind's perspective. Also some just negative outlook on the world for that same length of time.

Fire rolled over in his bed, trying to sleep. Not that it was a necessity for him. Whether it was eating, sleeping, or drinking, neither the Shadows or Suns had any form of bodily functions which were necessary for them to live. That being said, sometimes it was nice to grab a snack or close your eyes or a bit.

Well this is pointless, Fire thought. He had been laying there for who knows how long, and was ready to admit that he wasn't going to sleep. No matter how much he wanted to. It was not going to happen. Which always sucked.

Just as Fire was summoning the energy to get out of the warm covers of his bed, the door to his room burst open. "What the-" Fire shouted jumping out of bed. He lit on fire a bit. It was a defense mechanism he couldn't seem to shake.

The glow from the flames that encircled Fire lit up his room. It was fairly large, on one side of the room was the row of windows that would look out to the center of the orb, though they were currently covered by curtains decorated with white polka dots on a red background. The walls were adorned with the tapestries that Fire had made himself, and the desk he had done it at was tucked into a corner. The door was on the opposite wall to the bed, and it was made from the same glowing white material that the entirety of the Orb was made from. Fire's bed was in the center of the room, and it was covered in pink sheets with gold markings.

All of the sudden Fire was thrown into the wall of windows by a jet of fluid, water it would appear. "CALM IT DOWN MR. I-HAVE-FIRE-FOR-HAIR!" Water shouted at Fire, only to clear his throat and say, "I mean, I'm not here to attack you Mr. I-have-fire-for-hair," Water amended.

Fire growled as he stood up, shaking himself to get the water off of him. "You just attacked me," He grumbled at his friend.

Water chuckled and rolled his eyes. He turned around, gesturing for Fire to follow him out the door he had just come through. "I'm supposed to come get you. Light wants to see the four of us."

"You could have knocked," Fire sighed as he followed Water. There was a good chance that Light wanted to see him, Water, Earth, and Sky simply because he had lost one of his books and was hoping that they knew where it was. I mean, it is not like I have anything better to do, Fire admitted to himself.

The halls of the orb were marked by flower pots, doors, and other things. Many of Art's creations hung in the walls, and there were contributions from other suns as well. Fire nodded to some familiar faces who were also walking the halls as he went along to a door labeled "GARDEN".

"After you," Water said, ironically bowing as he held open the door.

Fire just rolled his eyes and went through the door. "Thank you," he said to Water, with as much sarcasm as he could muster.

Fire heard Water close the door behind him. "Grow a sense of humor, why don't you?" Water asked as the pair descended down the flight of stairs.

"I would," Fire retorted, "but growing is more Earth's job."

"I'm going outside," Mind informed Blood as he left their shared room.

"M'kay," Blood said, the Shadow engrossed in the book he was reading. "Don't, ya know, start a war or something."

Mind rolled his eyes. In what reality was he going to be the cause of a war? All he was doing was going out to explore the universe a bit. Because he was curious. Not because he wanted to see Fire again.
