Fire! Mind called out as he swung open the door to their room. The sun looked up at him and Blood, who was still holding the cube that Art had given him. Indeed, Blood still didn't really seem to know what was going on. He had that "I'm along for the ride" expression on his face. Because he had literally been dragged here. So yes, that was the correct expression.

However, Fire did not have an along for the ride expression on his face. Rather he looked excited and a little bit startled to see Mind barging in. "Um, yes?" the sun replied, putting down the container he'd been holding. The one he'd been using to pack up the leftover pasta if his thoughts were any indicator.

Smiling, Mind galloped over to where Fire's small desk was, nestled in the corner. The two blocks Art had talked about had been pushed to a corner. He grabbed them and then hurried back, not missing the looks Blood and Fire were giving each other. Namely the ones about him being so excitable. Not that he minded. Fire's fond smile was making him blush the tiniest bit.

Holding out one of the blocks to his boyfriend, Mind tried to stop bouncing. Art left these! Mind explained. He watched as Fire tentatively took the smoother, almost rose colored block. For a moment, the weight of the sun's hand rested on Mind's own, sending tingles up his spine.

Then Fire pulled back, but the magic didn't fade from Mind's heart. "Okay, why did Art leave these here?" the sun continued, almost asking the same questions Mind had earlier. Huh. They probably hadn't liked how long it took to explain. And Fire wasn't one for long explanations either. Okay then. Time to rattle everything off in one go!

Okay, so, Art wants us to carve these things into whatever so that they can paint everything we make into a mural. And I'm super excited because I know exactly what I want to make! Mind explained in one single thought. And, hey, only two sentences! Yes, accomplishment!

At that Fire gave Mind a look. "Are you going to tell me what you're going to make?" The sun asked. Hmm...that was a good question. On the one hand, it would be kind of fun to keep it a surprise. Mind would enjoy watching Fire constantly guess what his creation would turn out to be. On the other hand, maybe it would be nice to get some advice on how to make this thing. Fire was mildly artistic. All of the tapestries were proof of that.

Alright then, Mind had made his decision. Um...yes. I'm making something from a dream I had, it was true. A little bit ago, he had a strange dream. Where he'd been floating in space again, and then this thing had ricocheted across his vision. It was hard to explain the emotions that had come over him at that moment.

It had been a mixture of hope. Of feeling like flying, like Mind could do anything. He really did feel the whole universe at his fingertips. That was exhilarating. He felt powerful. As strong as one of the dragons. Untouchable even by the sharpest of weapons. More than any of that, however, Mind felt known.

In that dream, it seemed like someone had known Mind. There had been a presence there. Something heartachingly familiar. It felt wrapped around him, connected with tendrils and rope to his soul. Something unlike anything Mind had ever known. But it was something that he wanted to know. Someone, really. Whoever had been there had felt like another being to him. Perhaps not alive, but definitely conscious. Definitely aware.

It was warm and comforting. Being in the creature's presence. How Mind felt it all around him. He felt safe there, in a way similar to how he felt around Fire and around Blood, Form, and the rest of his friends. But there was something slightly different. Like their connection went deeper. Down to the root of his being, almost like they were both creations of the force of mind.

All of the sudden, Mind was brought back to reality by Fire, holding out a small knife to him. Not too sharp, just the kind for chopping food. But definitely enough to work. The smallest glance around showed that his boyfriend didn't have one. But Blood did. The shadow was regarding it, just to learn how it worked.
