Okay, so, as we are no longer in the happy go lucky future, I'm just gonna warn you that people get hurt, physically and emotionally. All in all, it's a pretty angst-filled chapter.

"VALT!" Shu shouted, a desperate scream that echoed around the dark park. Tears rose to his eyes as he watched Valt fall to the ground after being hit over the head by Angela. No no no no no no NO NO! This is not happening!  A wet line ran down Shu's cheek.

Shu was a volcano with it's top sealed tight. Something inside of him, was begging to be let out.  There was a pressure on his arms, where Gerald was holding him back. Not just from how tightly the man was clutching him. It was under his skin, in his muscle, aching to be let out. Thoughts whirled around in Shu's head, going a mile a minute.

There was something locked inside him.

Valt was...oh please don't let him be dead.

Gerald and his friends were going to pay.

For a while now, Shu had been fighting something.

       Right now?

He didn't bother to fight it.

For a moment, all Shu could see was an explosion of light, until he was let go by Gerald, causing him to fall to the ground. As his vision slowly cleared from the bright light, Shu was surprised to find he could see just fine, despite it being nighttime. It was like the sun had come out.

"W-what manner of - h-h-how the hell...screw it, RUN!" Gerald stuttered out, much to Shu's confusion. What was he talking about? What was so terrifying? Ah well, it wasn't Shu's problem right now. Standing up quickly, Shu ran to Valt, he was quite a few feet from his friend when Valt stirred, forcing himself up on his hands. A groan escaped Shu's blue-haired friend.

Shu came to a stop in his running. It was odd, something was telling him he shouldn't get too close to his friend. "Valt!" He said, fear for Valt and relief that his friend was not dead both mixed into his voice.

"Yea-oh," Valt said, his voice getting quite.

"Are you O.K.?" Shu asked, tilting his head at Valt. His hair hung to the side, and, if the circumstances were different, Valt probably would have smiled at the sight of his friend and crush being so worried about him.

Valt swallowed a bit, doing his best not to move suddenly. Even with way too much adrenaline and whatever other chemicals coursing through his body right now, he understood that his head was not okay. Valt placed a hand on the back of his head, and, yeah, that was blood. He pressed his hand against his head, trying to contain the bleeding. "Umm...," Valt said.

It was a bit surprising how calm Valt was, considering what had just happened. I mean, head injuries and getting attacked often make you panic.

Oh, and the fact that Shu was on fire. That should probably have been making Valt freak out more than he was.

"Yeah, I'm good," Valt reassured, "I mean, I'm bleeding from my head, so I should probably call someone in a second, but fine."

Shu sighed. "That does not sound fine, Valt," Shu muttered. Valt nodded a bit at that, and opened up his mouth to say something, only to get cut off by...

VALT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE BLEEDING FROM YOUR HEAD? Valtryek shouted in Valt's head.

Valt sighed. "I'm fine, Valtryek," he said quietly. "Thanks for worrying, though." Then, he remembered what he had been about to say.  Valt spoke calmly, in part because he was calm, in part because he didn't want to worry Shu. "Oh, Shu, you're on fire. Do you know what's up with that?"
