Also, after Hikaru gives the choker to Kit, our wind-inclined friend has a bit of a panic attack, so don't read if you don't want to deal with that. Summary of the chapter at the end.
Kit looked at the bey in his hands. It was sky blue, as it should be. It had feathers etched into it's tip and the face of a knight facing to the left. It's middle was yellow with blades that should allow it so fly even more than before. Finally, it had a tip with a ball in it, which should help with defense.
Hopefully.
Kit placed the bey into his launcher and took position. "Let it rip!" he shouted to the forest.
The newly evolved Sky Knight glided out from Kit's launcher, taking a few seconds to land in the stadium. It landed exactly in the center, just how he'd wanted, Knight spun there for a couple minutes kicking up wind around the stadium. If Kit had done everything right, then that wind should be enough to cause a ring-out finish against quite a few beys. Then again, maybe he hadn't.
After Sky Knight finally spun out, Kit took a moment to study the world around him. The forest stadium was so special to BC Sol it was almost sacred to them. Personally, Kit didn't believe too much in sacred things, but he knew enough to know that there were powerful places in the world. Powerful people to. After all, he was one of them.
Little did Kit know, he was about to become even more powerful. And he would have the set of blue eyes studying him from their hiding spot in the tree line to thank for that.
* * *
Kit had messed up his launch.
Like, a lot.
Sky Knight seemed to agree, laughing at Kit's screw up even as the bey went flying to a place that was most definitely not a stadium. Definitely not a stadium, as Knight seemed to be one course for a bush.
"Gah!" Kit shouted as he ran off the stadium's platform and into the woods.
Kit charged into the bush he thought he'd seen Knight fall into. Pushing away stones, sticks, and leaves, he scrambled to see a touch of color. Maybe you should have stopped before it got dark? Knight advised in Kit's head.
"Well it's not like you wanted to stop either," Kit muttered. "Just be useful and tell me where you are."
Silence. Kit tilted his head. "Knight?"
Somebody caught me out of the air. Their hands are covering my eyes. Knight admitted.
Kit jumped up out of the bush, unconsciously summoning a burst of air that lifted him up onto a tree branch. Standing up, placing a hand on the tree trunk for balance, he began, "Hey mystery person out there!" Kit shouted. "I know you have my bey so give him back!"
There was a pause, enough for a light breeze to ruffle the leaves of the trees, bringing the scent of night with it. "Hey, mystery person!" Kit heard someone call. He looked down. Standing at the base of the tree holding Sky Knight up for Kit to see was a female of probably around 26, maybe a little older. They had long light blue hair that was sticking out at various places, and more or less pulled behind their head. The person was wearing a light blue shirt with a long-sleeved red leather jacket, fitting the person's form closely. They were wearing black boots and gray denim shorts that went down to just above their knees. White blading gloves covered their hands. Their royal blue eyes shone as they continued. "So this guy's your partner?"
