Today had been a 'normal' day, well Jungkook had gotten up, got ready for school and then left the house.

Yesterday had been hard, much like the weekends. After he got home from Namjoon's he'd glanced around, thinking about how Saturday and Sunday were days that his parents didn't get as shit faced as weekdays.

Sure it had been a Monday, but it still felt like a Sunday, maybe because he hadn't gone to school.

But it had still been hard just looking around and seeing the bloodstain on the rug still as evident as the day his parents passed was so hard.

He'd eventually gone to his room and cried, by the time he'd woken up it was the next day.

As usual it took minutes to get to school, and hours for lunch to come round and when it finally did Jungkook didn't know whether he should be happy or not.

But he decided he should at least act a little happy, he pulled on a smile as he made his way to the cafeteria. He'd just about made it to the door before he'd gotten stopped, a familiar person grabbing onto his arm.

"Jungkook?" they called, and Jungkook recognized and face, it was Wooyoung "Wooyoung?" Jungkook questioned "yeah it's me, I didn't know you went to this college" Wooyoung smiled "didn't know you went here either" Jungkook told.

"Yeah just joined today" Wooyoung smiled "today?" Jungkook asked it wasn't normal for someone to join 5 months into the college year "I had to transfer, my college closed down, anyway, it's nice to know someone I know is here" Wooyoung smiled.

Jungkook would have offered for Wooyoung to sit with him and the others, if he hadn't already not wanted to sit with the others and knew Wooyoung would probably make things a little awkward.

"Can I sit with you?" Wooyoung asked "sure" he didn't want to be rude and he still felt bad for the way he treated Wooyoung ages ago the two got their lunch together and headed over to Jungkook's table of friends.

"Woah" Wooyoung gasped when he saw the group of people who soon turned to look at him "Jungkook are all of these your friends?!" He asked "mmh" Jungkook nodded "wow you've changed too much in the past few years no?" Wooyoung asked.

"No, I've only got more friends, I'm still the same" Jungkook told "anyway, guys this is Wooyoung, Wooyoung these are my friends" And Just like when they'd first met Seokjin the group introduced them one by one.

Just this time they didn't say their ages. Jungkook got a chair for Wooyoung to sit on only when he put it next to his did he notice Jimin seated next to him "what are you doing here?" He asked as Wooyoung sat down.

"Wanted to talk to you but we can talk later" Jimin told Jungkook just nodded sitting down, Yoongi and Wooyoung sitting on either side of him "now that I think about you haven't changed you're still as cute as I remember" Wooyoung told, and Hoshi literally choked on his food.

Mingyu patted his back to help

Jungkook didn't say anything "Yoongi are you really gonna let him hit on your man like that?" His questioned Jungkook felt his heartbeat quicken "shut up" Yoongi hissed "geez" Hoshi rolled his eyes.

"Your man?" Wooyoung began "does he like you?" He asked "we... We're dating" Jungkook informed "oh... Why didn't you say earlier, I'm not 14 anymore!" Wooyoung laughed and Jungkook felt a little better "true" He mumbled.

"Well congrats, I hope he's treating you well" Wooyoung said Jungkook wished he could truthfully say Yoongi was, but he wasn't, so he didn't "Oh yeah, how are your parents?" Wooyoung asked Jungkook's heart sunk at that.

Maybe it was time he came clean, finally let it sink in, time he stopped holding it all in. "They died" the words only came out after a moment of silence "oh god, I'm sorry Jungkook" Wooyoung quickly spoke "it's fine" Jungkook mumbled.

It wasn't fine.

Yoongi was about to speak but Wooyoung started first "What happened?" He asked "..Mum died from a drug overdose and dad..." Jungkook could stop himself from tearing up.

Fuck it was so hard to talk "he...he committed suicide... Right in front of me" He'd said it, but then it hit him, the wave of sadness, his dad coughing up blood right before his eyes.

"Hey Jungkook it's ok" Wooyoung assured, and Jungkook felt arms wrapping around his body, he knew it was Yoongi holding him.

Yet he didn't feel comfortable.

He should have been used the this, but it had been too long since Yoongi had held him like that... It felt uncomfortable.

And he knew it'd hurt Yoongi if he pushed him off, but he didn't want to be held by him, so he was lightly removing Yoongi's arms allowing himself to cry into his own hands he didn't want Yoongi.

He didn't need Yoongi.

No one knew why Jungkook had told Wooyoung his parents had died and not Yoongi.

Told Wooyoung before any of them, hell not even Jungkook knew, he wanted to say it was because of the timing, because he was finally ready to say it when Wooyoung had asked.

But he wasn't even sure if that was true.

He thought maybe it was because he'd known Wooyoung for a long time, but that couldn't have been it, he'd only met him again 2 years ago and even then they hadn't been in contact that much, just a few hellos on the phone and how are yous.

They hadn't been close, maybe as close as Jimin was to Jungkook, but not as close as Jungkook was to Jimin. To Jungkook, Jimin was a great friend, but he wasn't someone Jungkook would tell anything.

To Jimin, Jungkook was a great friend and person, he was someone Jimin could go to for advice or if he needed to get something off his chest.

They felt different towards each other, much like Wooyoung and Jungkook the only difference being Wooyoung's feelings were nothing like Jimin's.

The next few days of school were pretty similar to the previous days, maybe a bit quieter than usual, and a little awkward with Wooyoung being there.

But it wasn't that bad Jungkook had been getting along with Wooyoung a lot better than he'd expected, they'd been talking a lot, almost as much as Yoongi and Jungkook had been in the past.

While it was nice for Jungkook, Yoongi wasn't quite happy with it, and as time went on his unhappiness grew, in that time Seokjin and Namjoon's bond grew, they went on more dates did more coupley stuff and just lived life.

Jungkook had been staying at some of their houses sometimes when it got really hard to be at home, mainly the weekends because he would just see the house and think of his parents and just cry.

2 weeks passed before Yoongi snapped, and maybe just maybe if he had taken a different route things wouldn't have ended the way they did.

2/4/2021

"Jungkook do you wanna hang out together today?" Wooyoung asked, they had done it like twice before but it wasn't something they did often.

It was weird though, Jungkook had hung out with Jimin and Seokjin yet went ever Yoongi had asked about going on a date Jungkook had brushed him off.

When Yoongi had questioned it he'd told him he just needed time and space and of course Yoongi had agreed but when Jungkook nodded at Wooyoung's question Yoongi felt the need to step in.

"No, Jungkook and I need to talk" Yoongi told "we do?" Jungkook asked clearly confused "mmh" It's important" Yoongi told grabbing Jungkook's hand and pulling him off.
