Chapter 1

Five years.

Five years had passed since Namjoon had gone to the states, and just when he'd finally adjusted and lost hope in going back.

He was coming back, his dad had fallen sick and wanted him back, but before we go into that let's talk about how Namjoon was in those 5 years.

Of course he didn't go on his own, one of his dad's men came along to show Namjoon how he would be living in America.

He had been registered into a new college and would start the day after he landed.

Namjoon was glad he paid attention in his English classes because the man that came along with him only spoke Korean.

Something Namjoon was also unhappy about —not that he was happy about anything— was that in the states they did 4 years in college. So instead of graduating in 2021 like he was supposed to, he didn't graduate until 2022.

Namjoon hated the states in the beginning but after a year of going to college and making friends, he grew to accept it until he slowly began to think it wasn't so bad.

But of course he missed his friends and Seokjin more than he missed his mother which was quite a lot. He wouldn't lie he missed his father a little not much but after the first year, he grew to start missing him more.

He adapted quite quickly, and his English improved a lot over the 5 years he was there.

And at first, Namjoon was sure his dad sent him there just to show him what he could really do, but then as time went on he realized that wasn't the case.

After 5 years he thought his dad would bring him back but when he didn't Namjoon felt upset

He was sure if it wasn't 1 or 2 years it would only be 5 but it was around August when he heard his father had gotten sick.

Namjoon had panicked quite a bit unsure what he was supposed to do being in America and close to the end of September, he was told he was coming back, and Namjoon should have been happy.

But he wasn't.

In the last year, he'd taken time to focus on himself, stopped thinking about the life he had in Korea and while he didn't do much here, he wasn't sure if he wanted to go back.

But of course, because his father was sick he knew he had to come back.

He wanted to at least see the man, just in case anything happened to him.

Namjoon had only been hanging out with friends since he graduated from college, his dad told him not to get a job and since he knew all he needed to about his dad's company he didn't need to study.

And love just wasn't something he wanted, he knew he could find himself a partner, preferably a girl, but he didn't want to, his feelings for Seokjin hadn't completely disappeared, though they had died down quite a bit.

Namjoon could barely remember the older's face just a few faint memories of their dates, he didn't want to think about those days anymore, he want to just focus on the life he'd made in the states.

Where he thought he'd be going back to after visiting his dad, but after the first week of being in Korea, his dad began telling him things he needed to know about the company.

Told him he didn't think he would get any better and Namjoon would have to take over the company.

See Namjoon's dad wasn't young, he'd had Namjoon at the age of 36 and was currently 60, he didn't have the best diet and as a result, he didn't live as long as he wanted.
