'They'll try to anyway.' Scorpius looked back at Lily the intensity of his grey eyes momentarily taking her breath away.
'How do you know?' She asked.
'They're going to use the tournament as a distraction, I heard dad talking about it a few days ago, I just didn't understand the meaning until just now. He was talking about it at home with mum, she doesn't want him to be involved in this but he wouldn't listen. Lily the Seed is closer to us than we thought.' Scorpius faced Lily directly. 'They think it's in the school.'

For the next couple of weeks Lily snuck around with Scorpius during the night time. They used Lily's invisibility cloak her father had passed down to her in first year. However, the sneaking around the library and other plans alike was useless when they hardly knew what they were looking for.
'Are you sure they didn't call it something else other than 'Seed'?' Lily asked for the hundredth time.
'Yes Lily I'm sure.' Scorpius rubbed his eyes and yawned. It must've been past midnight.
'Let's go back, we need sleep.' Lily begun to move but Scorpius grabbed her wrist before she could walk away.
'We still haven't check one place...'
'And what's that?' Lily looked down at him.
'The Restricted Section.' A cold silence encompassed them before Lily broke it.
'You're insane, aren't you?... And I'm insane for following you... Alright let's do it, but we need to make it quick, someone might find us.'
The next hour was spent looking for anything slightly on the subject of the Seed and how it may help the Death Eaters. Nothing other than the first magical tree caught their attention.
'It says here that this was the first magical being...' Lily whispered into the comfortable silence.
'What?' Scorpius walked over to where Lily was sitting.
'This tree-' Lily pointed at the painted tree on the ancient books pages. It's roots seemed to cover the entire planet below it. The old pages crinkled under Lily's touch. 'They say that is was the first ever magical being. Oh look! It's called Merlin's Tree. Says that the tree passed its magic onto him and several others before him... Interesting...' Lily continued reading while Scorpius looked at the painting of the tree over her shoulder.
'I don't think that's what we're looking for Lily...' Scorpius whispered to her a few moments later.
'Doesn't mean it isn't interesting.' Lily pouted but returned the book, with its inscription of a skull on the cover, back to its position on the bookshelf. Before Lily could pick out another book the sound of shuffling feet interrupted the calm silence, bringing with it the fear of being caught by a teacher after curfew.
Lily looked over at Scorpius and he quickly grabbed her invisibility cloak and threw it over them and the candle in his hands. He didn't dare extinguish the flame for the smell may cause the person that was so close to them to sniff them out.
Mang, the caretaker of the school looked down the isle the two were standing in. His large nose roved the area they were hiding in and then quickly stopped. Lily wanted to cry out. Scorpius had forgotten to place the book he was looking at back on the shelf.
Mang shuffled over, slightly huffing with the exertion. Lily wasn't going to take the risk of waiting around. She gently squeezed Scorpius' hand and moved forward, making sure he knew exactly what she wanted. To get out of there as quickly as possible.
They skirted around Mang and sprinted into the hallway and up to Ravenclaw tower.
'What can clear your throat and yet choke you?' The brass eagle head knocker whispered to the two.
'Water...?' Scorpius asked after a moments hesitation. The door swung open to admit them with a soft 'well done' whispered from it.
'That was close...' Scorpius whispered, sitting in a dark blue beanbag. 'So what have we learned today?'
'Not to go snooping again?' Lily whispered back.
Scorpius chuckled softly, ' Well yes... But I do think we should stop too...'
'Yeah... We also know that the first magical being was a tree... Merlin's Tree to be exact.' Lily walked over to the girls dormitory as Scorpius smiled at her.
'Yes that too. Doesn't really help us though.' He rubbed his eyes trying to stay awake.
'I guess not... Scorpius go to bed. We'll need our strength in the morning, the Durmstrang and Beauxbaton students will be arriving tomorrow.'
'Mhm.' Scorpius lifted himself off the beanbag and made his way over to the boys dormitory entrance.
'Goodnight.' Lily whispered before walking up the dormitory stairs.
'Wait a minute Lily.' She turned around and looked at Scorpius standing in front of the stairs. 'Thank you for helping me with all of this.' He murmured up to her.
She smiled at him. 'It's a pleasure.'
'Goodnight Lily.'
'Goodnight Scorpius.'
