It was the middle of the school year, February to be exact. Valentine's Day to be even more precise. That day had been filled with giggling girls and dumbfounded boys. Most of the young male students had no idea what was going on with the giggling, eye-battering female students. Most of them seemed as if they were intoxicated the whole morning. Lily, of course, knew it was because the girls wanted their own Valentine's. But as the day progressed and the boys didn't catch onto their flirting, their moods dropped and they became fierce predators by the evening, snapping at anyone that tried to spoil their melancholia.

Lily and Kara seemed to be the only two sane girls in their common room. By the evening Lily was exhausted by the girls moods around her. There were so many emotions that she felt like she had studied the whole day even though it was a Saturday night. She was mentally and emotionally drained.

She sighed as she slid onto her favourite sofa and watched the small crackling fire. She must've fallen asleep at some point because the next thing she knew was that she was being shaken awake. Her eyes burst open to find silvery grey ones only inches away. From this proximity she could see every detail in them, she even noticed the small tinge of light green at the edges.

Lily gasped and he stepped back. Scorpius stood before her, slightly red in the face.

'Oh, hey Scorpius.' Lily rubbed her eyes.

'Sorry if I scared you, you just looked like you were having a nightmare.' He explained himself quickly. Lily laughed at his expression.

'Did I? I don't remember what I was dreaming of...' Lily moved over to make some room for Scorpius on the comfy sofa. 'How was your day?'

'Hectic.' He replied breathlessly. 'Too many swooning girls.' Lily laughed again.

'Oh I'm sure. The girls were pretty insane today though...'

'Yeah, Lucas, the Chaser on the Quidditch team, didn't actually realise Rebecca from Slytherin was flirting with him and when she'd had enough of him she punched him in the stomach and that's when he thought she was into him! Oh how pathetic, poor bloke, doesn't know when a girl has taken interest. Should take lessons from the Love Doctor.' Scorpius winked.

'I sure hope you don't mean Professor Flitwick.' Lily and Scorpius burst into laughter.

'So how was your day, did you punch any hopeless boys?' Scorpius laughed.

'No, no. Unfortunately not. The girls seemed to suck away all my energy though, I feel like crap. I've hardly eaten anything all day.' Lily grabbed her stomach as it agonisingly growled.

'Hm...' Scorpius thought for a bit before his eyes lit up. 'I have the perfect solution to that! Come on.' He grabbed Lily's hand and they were out of the common room before Lily could ask where they were going.

'What are we doing here?' Lily asked. They were standing in front of a painting with a bowl of fruit on it. Lily gasped as she watched Scorpius tickle a pear as it giggled. When it stopped it turned into a green door-knob. 'What on earth-?'

'You said you were hungry didn't you?' Scorpius looked down at her. 'Well these are the kitchens, how did you think we got our food?' He opened the door and Lily stared at the high ceiling, enormous room. There were four tables vertically facing one horizontal table, just like the table placement in the Great Hall. A great brick fireplace was stationed at the other end. Brass pots and pans were heaped around the stone walls, clean and shining.

'Ah what brings sir Malfoy down to the kitchens? Does sir need some food?' A house elf walked up to the two, talking to them gently. She was quite small compared to the other house elves milling about around her, and her ears and brown eyes larger than the rest.
