Dear Mum and Dad,

Well the Sorting went fine, it's just that I am in Ravenclaw... I don't know how you'll feel about that! I'm sorry that I'm not in Gryffindor like you two and Albus and James, but I really am enjoying myself. Last night after the Sorting finished and we ate until our stomach's exploded we had to wait outside of our common room for two hours trying to figure out the password. A boy in fifth year finally answered the question (How does a diamond shine?). A lot of people answered it with some glass like stuff, but the boy said 'A diamond doesn't shine, it reflects.' The raven like knocker let us in and we pretty much partied that night, don't worry I went straight to bed.

Your's Lily.

Lily had woken early that morning to deliver the note to the owlery. She was already missing her parents. She was the only one of her family that had made it into Ravenclaw and she felt completely alone. People talked to her, sure, but there was still a loss inside her. She pushed her feelings aside as she left the owlery. She could just see her Spotted Owl, Zeva, flying in the distance. It was a nice clear morning that day and Lily had Potions up first. With a last look over her shoulder she made her way to the second floor of Hogwarts.

Professor Slughorn was the Potions teacher. When he first saw Lily he thought he'd gone back in time. Once he asked who she was he almost fainted at the name.

'Lily Evans? I mean Potter? What on earth is going on?' he had yelled, all the first years jumped at him exclamation. He checked his heart a dozen times as if trying to see if it was still beating.

'Yes sir, Lily Luna Potter.' she had replied. He laughed.

'Of course, of course! Harry Potter had a daughter! I had forgotten... I apologise my dear.' he waved his hand dramatically, almost hitting a tall first year and continued the lesson.

When break had started all the first years ran to the Great Hall for food. Lily was the last to leave the Potions class. She stayed behind to talk to Professor Slughorn about the lesson, she had quite enjoyed the potions lesson. Professor Slughorn had told her that Lily reminded him so much of another Lily he knew, Lily Evan's, her dead grandmother. She wish she had met her grandmother she seemed like such a good-natured person.

Once Lily had reached the Great Hall someone called her name. It was Albus.

'Hey Lily, I overheard someone before talking about you and Professor Slughorn, trust me all of us had to go through that.' Albus laughed.

'Who's all of us?' Lily asked.

'Us little Potters.' James came out of a large group of Gryfindor's.

'Potter!' Lily, James and Albus all turned to the boy with the perfectly placed blonde hair. Malfoy. James grumbled and said he had to 'go throw up'.

'Hello my favourite Potter.' Scorpius patted Albus on the shoulder.

'Oh why thank you.' Albus replied.

'I was talking about James, you prick.' Scorpius joked. Lily laughed at Albus' understanding face. As if it were the most normal thing.

'I didn't know you were put into Ravenclaw too!' Scorpius exclaimed as he looked down at the Ravenclaw badge on Lily's robes. She looked at his badge to find it too had the Ravenclaw crest on it.

'How come I didn't see you at the Sorting or in our common room?' Lily asked. Scorpius' grey eyes, almost like melting silver seemed to freeze.

'I... er... I'm not... uh... I was busy.' He stuttered. Albus looked over his shoulder as a second year from Hufflepuff tripped and fell to the ground, her wand flying from her grip and produced small sparks as it tumbled across the stone ground. Albus went over and helped her up.

'What were you busy with?' Lily persisted. She knew Scorpius was lying.

'Uh... Don't worry about it.' He smiled a cheeky smile just as Lily was pushed away from him by a large group of fourth years.

'I mean life would be so much easier if Mcgonagall just put that blasted charm down so I could text that ex of mine exactly what I thought of him!' one of the fourth years exclaimed.

'What's "text"?' Another asked.

'What have you been doing for the last couple of years? Living under a rock? It's the 21st century man, we need to get you a phone.' Yet another fourth year replied.

'Lily what do you have now?' Albus asked after helping the Hufflepuff that had fallen over.

'Uh... Herbology?' Lily looked at the large ceiling in thought, 'Yeah, Herbology.'

'Alright I'll get Scorpius to take you since he has Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid.' Albus went in search for Scorpius as Lily waited in the chaos as all of the students swarmed out of the Great Hall to get to their lessons on time.

'Lily can I ask you something?' Scorpius asked her as they walked through the courtyard to Herbology.

'You just did, didn't you?' Lily joked. They laughed a bit until Scorpius got serious.

'No, but seriously.' He looked her in the eyes. Lily looked over to the Black Lake with the apparent very large squid in it.

'Sure go ahead." She replied.

'I've asked Albus so many times but I don't think he tells me the truth... What do your parents think of me?' The question took Lily by surprise. Why would he care?

'Why?' She asked in a bewildered tone.

'I just want to know.'

'Well... I guess you look like your father...-'

'That's what i thought...' Scorpius' tone dropped to anger and a sudden darkness overtook his features.

'You didn't let me finish, you noob, as I was saying, you look like your father but you took my parents by surprise, especially my dad, when you went and talked to them. They expected you to be exactly like your dad, rude, a traitor, bad and arrogant- well you kind of are arrogant, I guess.' Lily joked. It seemed to work because Scorpius laughed a deep bellied laugh.

'Alright, alright that's good, noob.' He laughed some more.

'Why did you want to know anyway?' Lily asked, intrigued.

'I just wanted to know if they found anything different between me and my dad. Well I love getting on my dad's nerves anyway, and I guess being myself seems to do the trick... I'm thinking of piercing my ear too...' He looked at the Black Lake deep in thought.

'Do it, it'd be funny.' Lily looked over at the Black Lake too.

'Wow you are so unlike your brother, Lily. He'd tell me to stop and not make rash decisions like that.' Scorpius looked down at her.

'Well I'm not my brother now am I?'

'I guess not... alright noob, you're class is over there,' Scorpius pointed at a greenhouse filled with greenery, 'I'll see you later.' He saluted her and walked off to his class. She walked over to the green house and entered it with a spring in her step.

'Hello, Lily!'

'Hello, Professor Longbottom!' Lily replied to the close family friend , Neville, who was waiting for his class to quieten before starting his lesson.
