Lily's stomach growled loudly as she made her way over to Defence Against the Dark Arts, she hadn't had anything at lunch since she was too busy speaking to Scorpius and Albus about the fight that had happened earlier. Her brother, James, was many things; mischievous, proud, funny, but a fighter? Never.

Lily's heart throbbed for her brother. She had never seen that much pain in her brother's eyes when she sided with Scorpius. Lily's thoughts were on her brother the whole time she walked to Defense.

'Hey Lily,' Lily looked up to find one of the Ravenclaw boys calling her over, she couldn't remember his name. 'What happened with your brother? I mean did you see that swing? He must have broken Malfoy's nose!'

'I know right! If I had to choose I'd be on Potter's side.'

'Me too.'

'I don't know guys, I'd rather be on the underdog's team.'

Lily had no idea who was speaking but she had no intention of listening any longer. She walked away before she hurt someone else.

'Good morning class, please take your seats. I am Professor Schmidt, however, you may call my Professor S if need be. I will be your Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher for the remainder of your time at Hogwarts.' A man with no hair on his head and large muscles stood at the front of the wide classroom glaring down at the first year Ravenclaws. They all recoiled from the teacher, his strong appearance made sure that no one would get in his way.

'First year Ravenclaws! I will be teaching you the basics of Defence Against the Dark Arts for the rest of the year and I will also throw into the lessons some no-wand defending. The reason I will be teaching you no-wand defending is so that if someone was to attack you in front of a Muggle you wouldn't get in trouble for underage magic use. Any questions?' Lily looked around the room and noticed a small girl with glasses raising her hand.

'Professor Schmidt what is a Muggle?' Most of the students laughed, Professor Schmidt even grinned.

'What's your name?' He asked.

'Kara Zavala, Sir.' She replied.

'Well Kara, a Muggle is a person with non-magical blood.'

'So my parents are Muggles?'

'Yes, and you are a Muggle-born, someone who is born from two non-magical parents but exhibits magical abilities.' Lily looked away from Kara to the front of the class. 'Let's begin the class shall we? Alright. Today we will learn the theory of the Curse of the Bogies so that by next lesson we can begin learning how to produce the spell.' Lily was ecstatic about learning the fundamentals of the Curse of the Bogies. Defence Against the Dark Arts was her last lesson of the day sot hat when the lesson had finished she quickly ran to the library to finish the small amount of homework she had.

Lily was sitting at her usual spot in the library doing her homework. It was stationed at the back of the library, near a window covered with vines. The table she was sitting at was surrounded by so many books that it would be a miracle if someone found her.

It was nearing the end of October, the nights getting shorter and colder. Lily had spent two months at Hogwarts and she adored it. James behaved more like his mischevious self again, even though he did everything humanly possible to ignore Scorpius. Which was getting less effective as Scorpius did everything he could to annoy James.

Lily spent a lot of time with her Weasley cousins Hugo, Rose, Roxanne and Lucy. Who were all in Gryffindor except for Roxanne who shockingly got into Slytherin. Since Hugo was the one she was closest to out of all of them, Lily spent most of her time with him, either studying or practising Quiddich. She was great at Quiddich but wasn't as dedicated to it as Hugo. He loved Quiddich but wasn't the best player compared to the others. He practised as much as he could to get better, every now and then swearing vigorously when he didn't do as well as he could've.

The sound of owls flying outside, or what Lily presumed to be owls, snapped her out of her reverie. She looked up at the ticking clock overhead and gasped. Her curfew was an hour ago. She gathered her belongings as quickly and quietly as she possibly could then sprinted out of the library and up the stairs toward her common room.

'What traditionally has a long white dress and a flaming head?' The bronze eagle-shaped knocker asked. Lily huffed with exhaustion and adrenaline.

'A...a c-candle.' Lily puffed.

'Certainly.' The door opened and Lily bolted through the door and slammed it shut behind her before anyone found her. Sweat poured down her face as she slid down to the ground, heaving for air.

'And where, may I ask have you been Miss Potter?' Lily's eyes flashed open.
