'What if the pages told them where to find the Tree?' Lily asked Scorpius in the early hours of the morning when they awoke. They hardly had any sleep after the new information had registered in their minds, their bodies sore from sleeping on the couch. Most of the night they had spent trying to figure out where on the Hogwarts grounds the Tree could be.
'Books aren't very good at giving straight forward answers.' Scorpius replied groggily. The dark clouds outside contrasting broadly with his pale hair.
'What if this one is?' Lily asked hoping her voice didn't sound as strangled to Scorpius as it did to her.
He paused for a minute, 'well then, and I'm putting this in the nicest way possible... We're screwed.' Lily sighed. 'Well I'm going to go change., meet you in the great hall?'
'Yeah sure, see you then.' Lily replied and left the common room. Lily's head was pounding, the little amount of sleep she had gotten last night wasn't enough. The day was going to be a long one.
'Lily.' Her head snapped up to the voice. She looked around the empty entrance, trying to find the source of the sound. No one was there. Lily took once last sweeping glance around the room before entering the Great Hall to have breakfast with Scorpius. She shook her head to rid herself of the drowsiness she was feeling. She needed to get some more sleep.

'Now if you'll all kindly make your way to the greenhouses in orderly fashion, the First Task shall commence.' McGonagall said to the restless students in front of her. Everyone got up as one and headed for the greenhouses.
Just as Lily was about to leave the castle someone grabbed her by the hand and yanked her down to the dungeons.
'Scorpius! What are you doing?' Lily hissed at him, looking back at the chaos of students exiting the castle. No one noticed them leave.
'Shush.' he whispered and pulled her until they were in a room that they could no longer hear the commotion of what was happening in the Entrance Hall. After Scorpius had shut the door behind him he began to speak again, 'well, I've been thinking a lot about everything we have talked about and I've come to the conclusion that the Tree is in the school...'
'Well obviously...' Lily replied sarcastically, 'we've already established that.'
'No, I don't mean somewhere in the school grounds, I mean inside the school.'
Lily stopped flicking through pages on the desk that she was leaning up against, 'what makes you say that?'
'Well the Deatheaters want the Tree's Seed, right? But they know that the school is heavily guarded by the teachers... and everything dad has been saying... It just all adds up! I mean what better way to go look for some tree than when everyone is quite literally looking the other way?' Scorpius was shaking with all the information he was trying to tell Lily, he knew he wasn't making sense.
'Yeah, but that doesn't mean that the Tree will be inside the school. It's a tree Scor... Is it supposed to have concrete as roots? No, just like every other tree it needs soil...' Lily replied softly, taking the edge away from her sarcasm.
He seemed to deflate only slightly, 'It's in the school Lily, I just know it.' Scorpius whispered more to himself than to Lily, 'It has to be...'
A bubble of silence encompassed them before Lily spoke again, this time determine. '...Alright Scorpius, let's go find it then.'
