'Potter! Malfoy! Are you two alright?' Professor McGonagall came racing to the pair laying on the ground, huffing with effort to stand up. She grabbed Scorpius by the ear and yanked him into a standing position. 'I told you to go with a teacher.'

'Ow, ow! Sorry, I couldn't find a teacher anywhere.' Scorpius smoothly lied.

'Ten points from Ravenclaw for your cheek. Now, are you alright?' McGonagall let go of Scorpius' ear and focused her attention on Lily. She looked Lily up and down noticing the slowly blossoming bruise near her eye and the hardened blood stain on her collar. 'You were supposed to be at home for the holidays, both of you were...' Suspicion was seeping its way into her tone.

'Ah yeah, about that...' Lily looked at the ground, 'Sorry Professor, we had meant to send an owl, we had forgotten one of my projects that Scorpius was helping me out with, I was meant to do it over the break, we were just coming back to retrieve it.' She looked up at McGonagall, feigning innocence.

McGonagall's expression softened, 'bad time to come back with that strange earthquake and those blithering Death Eaters storming the school.' She sighed, 'oh and your father is awake, Malfoy.'

'Oh um... That's great, could I just have a moment to speak to him?' Scorpius looked at Lily. Lily was confused and followed him when McGonagall let them off. Most of the students were back inside the school as the dusk air was becoming increasingly chillier.

'Scorpius, you're supposed to be at home-' Mr Malfoy's eyes held suspicion as he looked between Lily and Scorpius. Lily just realised that Scorpius had taken out his wand, looking around her, no one was watching.

'Obliviate.' Scorpius whispered, pointing his want at his fathers head. A blank look encompassed Mr Malfoy's features. 'Eventually he'd put us together with the Seed and he'd realise we have it. We do still have it don't we?'

Lily lightly touched the Seed in her pocket, 'yes. They had no idea how close they actually were to it.'

'Bunch of idiots, honestly.' Scorpius laughed. He took Lily's hand in his and lead her into the school, leaving his father to stare at a tree for a while. 'Let's stay the night here and then we can go back home in the morning, it's too late to leave now.'

'Ugh, mum and dad are going to have my head on a spit...' Lily felt cold, her hands shook.

'Are you scared?' Scorpius laughed.

'No you idiot, I'm cold.' Lily lightly punched him.

'Oh,' Scorpius let go of her hand and removed his jumper, 'here.'

Lily blushed lightly, 'you don't have to-' before she could finish her sentence Scorpius pulled the jumper over her head, immediately having her burst into laughter, 'thanks.'

'What occurs twice a week, once a year, but never in a day?' The Ravenclaw knocker asked the pair.

'The letter "e".' Scorpius answered. The door swung open. The common room was quiet, everyone must've gone to sleep early with all the drama and stress that had happened earlier with the earthquake. The two sat on the navy blue couch that faced the wide window. It looked over the still Black Lake and the Forbidden Forest on the other side.

'Alright let's figure out what to do with the Seed now,' Lily said after casting the Muffliato charm she had learnt from her brother, James.

'Okay, what's it saying?' Scorpius asked.

'Er, I haven't actually heard it in a while...'

'Well why don't you try communicate with it first?' He suggested.
