'Wingardium Leviosa,' Lily murmured, swishing and flicking the way Professor Flitwick had taught her. The large boulder slowly hovered off of Mr Malfoy and Lily gently let it fall beside them. The rocks above them still rained down.

'Scor...' Lily gently began, choosing her words wisely, 'we need to get him out of here.' Scorpius pulled his father up with him and rushed out of the cavern, Lily limping behind them quickly.

'Where did you leave your broom? We could use it to get us out of here quicker.' Lily suggested, breathing heavily as she climbed the steep incline towards the entrance of the falling cavern. She dodged a particularly large rock that fell mere centimetres in front of her.

'Good idea, I left it in the room outside the Slytherin common room. Accio broom!' Scorpius stumbled a bit under the weight of his father but quickly regained his balance.

It took a few moments before the broom shot down beside him, hovering right next to his hip. The sleekness of the broom reminding Lily of a snake.

'Hope on Lily, I'll hover dad next to us as we fly.' Lily did as she was told, quite ungracefully, as her ankle seemed to hurt more and more as the adrenaline pumped out of her system. Lily steered the broom this time, making it easier for Scorpius to concentrate on hovering his father beside them.

Within a few seconds they were out of the humungous cavern and were speeding through the tight, dark passage way. Lily was shocked to find that the rest of the school was trembling just as much as the cave deep underneath it. Finally they flew out of the open door, that housed the spiral staircase, and were in front of the Slytherin common room when they heard a yelp.

Lily stopped the broom and Scorpius had to swerve his father in order to avoid a collision.

Lily jumped off of the broom, yelling behind her, 'take him to safety- no Scor, go, I'm going to help them out, just go!' Lily ran the opposite direction of the Entrance Hall before Scorpius could say anything. She limped past a room before she had to double back and take a closer look. She made sure to dodge the falling rocks and almost fell over when she noticed what was inside of the small room. Another Death Eater.

An eerie silence encompassed her thoughts before she finally thought, 'should I leave him behind?'

The Death Eater was on the floor, his stomach supporting a particularly large stone. He looked like he was focusing on breathing, his wand was right next to Lily's foot. She picked it up. She should just snap it. Let him die.

The time ticked by and Lily was frozen in place. The Death Eater seemed to finally try look for his wand and his eyes landed on Lily's. There was a moment of silence before Lily pointed her wand at him, finally making up her mind.

'Wingardium Leviosa,' the rock lifted off of the Death Eater, he breathed in sharply and watched Lily as she let the rock fall beside him, 'let's get out of here.'

He got up from the floor, gingerly, 'give me back my wand,'

'No, now move,' Lily replied and pointed her wand at him. He complied half-heartedly, every now and then throwing dark looks over his shoulder as they walked up to the Entrance Hall, dodging large rocks every so often. When they had finally made it out of the school, a large group of students were packed outside, along with the Professors of the school. Lily wasn't shocked by the number of students as most of the school had stayed behind because of the Triwizard Tournament. Mixed with the Hogwarts students were the Durmstrang and Beauxbaton students.

The ground outside shook just as hard as it had inside. The Tree must've caused the earthquake.

You are correct, I'm sorry. The voice in her head apologised, it sounded like an articulate child rather than the husky voice it had previously featured. Lily felt her pocket and her heart eased as she felt the groove of the Seed against her finger tips.
