September the 1st. It was finally her turn. Lily had finally grown old enough to enter Hogwarts the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She woke with a spring in her step. She'd been waiting all year for this moment, when Albus and James had come back home from Hogwarts they both told her about how amazing it was at the school. Although James did scare her about having to face a troll to see which house she was going to be sorted into, but Albus told her after that it was all a load of non-sense. James was in the Gryffindor house along with Albus. Lily on the other hand was torn between wanting to be in Ravenclaw or making her parents proud by getting into Gryffindor.

'Dad! Wake up, dad! Come on we'll be late!' Lily bellowed into her fathers sleeping face. She heard him and her mother groan but Lily had already ran to the next room to wake James and Albus.

'We have another four hours before we have to leave you idiot!' James screamed after he noticed the time on his bedside table. But Lily was already running out of the room to pack her bags. She had already been to Diagon Alley and picked up all the books, quills and equipment she needed for school. She had also bought a Spotted Owl and named her Zeva. A unicorn tail hair, ash, flexible, fourteen inch, reddish with a light and intricate handle was the wand that chose her from Ollivanders wand shop. Lily was so proud of it that she didn't let go of it for three days straight, she even went to sleep with it, well that was until her mother had had enough of it.

It was Lily's first year, Albus' third and James' fourth. Lily couldn't wait to start. She had studied over the holiday, reading and re-reading her first year books, like Hermione, her aunt. Her father had told Lily so many storied about his adventures at Hogwarts. He spoke very fondly to her about Ron and Hermione. Lily wanted so badly to be the brightest witch in her age just like her aunt, but every time Hermione would tell her about her adventures with Harry and Ron, Lily would grow a little bit envious of them. She wanted that, she wanted best friends that stuck with her through thick and thin, she wanted a new adventure every day, but most of all she wanted to become a better person. And that is what she aimed to do every day of the year, year after year.

Lily picked up her books and quills, and organised her bags slowly, making sure everything was perfect for the new school year. The clock looked as if it were frozen, hardly even moving and Lily was getting impatient. She decided to go and have some breakfast before they were to head off to the train.

'Whoa kiddo, slow down or you'll get a stomach ache.' He father laughed. Lily looked up at him from her bowl of cereal as she gulped it down. 'Eating that fast won't make the time speed up. Come on I've got something to show you before we leave.' Harry made his way over to the study next to the kitchen. Lily hastily gulped the remaining cereal and jumped up to follow her father.

'Dad? What are we doing?' Lily whispered.

'Sh... It's a secret.' Harry mischievously whispered, then slowly crouched and shuffled over to his desk with Lily copying his every move. 'I want you to have something of mine...As a gift... Since James had already stolen the map I was going to give you-'

'What map?' Lily interrupted.

'The Marauder's Map... But never mind that, that's a story for another time,' Harry pulled out a silky, air light cloak. He handed it over to her slowly. 'This was my fathers and he had passed it down to me... and now it's yours.' Lily felt the water woven like material. 'It's an Invisibility Cloak.' Harry answered her questioning look. 'Go on, put it on.' Lily did as her father instructed and tried on the cloak around her shoulders. Slowly she looked down to her feet and almost screamed. Harry pulled her softly over to a long narrow mirror and made Lily look at herself. All Lily could see of herself was her head floating in mid air.

'Dad...What am I supposed to do with this?' Lily asked pulling it over her head and seeing nothing but her father in the mirror.

'Use it wisely.' Harry said.

The Hogwarts Express, the train on platform nine and three quarters that no muggle could see. The only way to get to platform nine and three quarters was to go through the separating wall barrier. Of course only muggles thought it was an ordinary wall, but no witch or wizard were fooled, they knew exactly what lay beyond that wall. Lily stared at the train impatiently waiting for it's whistle to let her board it.

'Hey, Potter!' Someone shouted from the distance. All the Potters turned around to see who was calling. Harry froze along with Ginny, James and Lily.

'Hey, Malfoy.' Albus responded giving Scorpius a pat on the back. Lily had completely forgotten about this boy and his warm but yet afraid grey eyes. Scorpius finally looked over to the other Potters all frozen in place.

'Hello Mr and Mrs Potter, I'm Scorpius Malfoy.' Scorpius held out his hand to Harry. It took Harry a long time to reach out and grab Scorpius' hand but eventually he did it.

'Hello, I'm Harry and this is my wife Ginny and my children James and Lily.' Harry introduced his family.

'Oh I believe we've met before.' Scorpius' eyes looked over at Lily. 'Potter.' Lily laughed.

'Malfoy.' She answered. The train screeched it's whistle, making them all jump. Lily kissed goodbye her mother and father and ran into the train along with her bags and Spotted Owl, Zeva. 'Albus where am I going to sit?' Lily asked while following her brother down the train corridor.

'Come sit with me.' Albus answered helping Lily with her baggage. Finally they found an empty compartment near the end of the carriage. After the two siblings settled themselves Lily bought up Scorpius.

'Are you and Scorpius friends?' She asked. She knew her dad hated anything to do with the Malfoys.

'Yeah, best friends actually. James doesn't like him though.' Albus replied.

'Neither does dad...Why doesn't James like him though?' asked Lily.

'Yeah well... Let's just say they sort of got into a fight last year...' Albus looked down and Lily knew she wasn't going to get any more answers from him, so instead she pulled out her Herbology book and begun re-reading it for the rest of the ride.

'Firs' years, this way! Firs' years!' A mammoth of a man bellowed. Hagrid the Gamekeeper, the keeper of all keys. Harry told Lily loads of stories about Hagrid, once in a while he would tell the same story over and over again, but Lily didn't care, she loved every minute of every story.

'Lily go with Hagrid!' Albus shouted over the loud storm surrounding them. Lily followed his instructions and went over to Hagrid. His dark beady eyes looked down at her.

'Ah, Lily! How's yeh dad?' He bellowed through the whistling wind.

'Hello Hagrid! He's good!' She answered.

'Alrigh', come this way firs' years!' Hagrid moved forward with his lantern held high above his head. A hoard of first years followed him with Lily trailing behind them all.
