'We've been looking hours now! Maybe it's not inside the school Scorpius.' Lily finally burst out.
'Is there any place your dad might have talked about that could possibly hide a tree?' Scorpius asked, looking back at her as they ascended to the sixth floor, already having scoured the other floors as best they could.
Lily gasped, 'The Room of Requirement!'
'What's the-' Scorpius was cut off by Lily yanking on his hand to push him forward into a sprint.
'The Room of Requirement is a place that gives you what you're in most need of,' Lily begun when they had reached the blank wall on the seventh floor opposite the moving tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach trolls how to ballet. 'For example if you're in need of a toilet, the room will turn into exactly that. All we need to do is concentrate on the Tree and walk in front of the wall three times... hopefully it'll work...' Lily whispered the last few words, doubting herself if it would.
The two walked up and down the hallway, concentrating as hard as possible on the Tree. Lily opened her eyes when they had finished the walk.
'Maybe we need to think of something more specific?' she asked after sourly noticing there was no door on the wall.
'What could possibly be more specific than, 'the Tree'?' Scorpius whispered sarcastically.
'How about Merlin's Tree?' Lily lifted her chin in over exaggerated confidence. Scorpius softly smiled and held out his arm to her, she took hold of the crook in his elbow as they walked again, up and down the corridor, concentrating this time on 'Merlin's Tree'.
Lily groaned. It hadn't worked.
'I'm going to sit down, you can keep going if you want.' Lily said, taking a seat on the floor. She watched Scorpius pursue the matter for another hour before also giving up and sitting next to her.
'Lily...'
'Yeah?' she asked.
'What?' Scorpius looked at her.
'Didn't you say my name?' she looked up at him confused.
'...No...' he looked at her with concern. 'I think you need to go get some rest.' Lily looked down at her hands, slightly shaking her head.
'Yeah probably...' she whispered. The two stood up and made their way back to the Ravenclaw common room.
'Sleep well.' Scorpius said as he headed for his dorm room.
'You too.' Lily replied and headed over to her dorm. She fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

'Lily! Help me!' Scorpius bellowed, clawing at the grass.
'Scorpius! Hang on!' she whipped out her wand, but before she could think of which spell to use Scorpius was already gone.
'Lily!' someone else screamed from behind her. She spun around and saw her parents being dragged away. She jumped after them, only just missing their hands before they too were dragged underneath the ground.
'Mum! Dad!' Tears streamed from Lily's eyes.
'Help me...' An old lady now stood in front of her, looking down on Lily lying on the floor. Lily wiped her tears.
'Tell me how I can help-' Before Lily could finish her sentence the old lady too, was taken down by an invisible figure and pulled underground. Lily curled up into a ball, tears falling like a rainstorm.
'Please, stop, please.' Lily rocked herself slowly, her head on her knees.
'Help me Lily Luna Potter...' Just before she could open her eyes to see who was asking for her help something grabbed at her. Pulling and yanking. It made her heart jump in her chest just as her eyes flew open.
'Lily are you okay?'
'Lily it was just a dream, you'll be okay.'
'Lily get up.'
'It'll be okay.'
The Ravenclaw girls in Lily's year grouped around her bed, holding her hands or brushing her hair out of her wet face. Only now did she realise she was crying. Lily quickly wiped her face.
'What time is it?' Lily asked.
'Nine o'clock in the morning,' Kara replied, her glasses slipping off her nose only slightly as she helped Lily off of the bed. 'Do you want to talk about it?'
'No,' Lily whispered. She was still in the clothes she had worn the day before so she didn't bother changing. She left the dorm with the girls looking worriedly at her back.
'Are you okay?' Scorpius was right at the entrance of the girls dorm staircase.
'Yeah I'm fine, how do you know about-'
'Lily you were practically screaming.' Scorpius replied, 'talk to me about it.' Now that Scorpius had said it, Lily noticed everyone looking at her. She flushed with embarrassment and quickly walked out of the common room with Scorpius hot on her heels.
'It was just a nightmare.' she whispered, more to herself than anything. Lily walked until they reached the courtyard. From there she sprinted to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
'Lily! Where are you going?' Scorpius yelled after her. He was puffing once he reached the edge of the forest.
'I'm sorry, I just needed to get away from the school...' Lily held onto a tree to steady herself. A slight buzzing filled Lily's ears. She shook her head to rid herself of the sound.
'Lily I think you should sit down, you don't look so good...' Scorpius instructed, taking her by the hands and pulling her down beside him. 'Tell me about the nightmare, it'll make you feel better when you do.'
Lily leaned her head on his shoulder, letting her eyes shut as she retold the nightmare. 'Scor... It felt so real...' She finished quietly. His arm tightened around her shoulders.
'It wasn't real though Lily... I'm right here, I won't leave you.' He whispered into her hair. The sky above them looked moody and dangerous but it didn't dare rain over them.
