"Girls?" Uraraka started. The heroines of Japan perked up at Uraraka's voice. They were in their shared room, lounging around. Puzzles and other random objects littered the room.
"Yes, Uraraka?" Jirou answered, keeping her gaze on the puzzle piece in her hands.
"What do you think about (Y/N)?" Uraraka asked.
The room paused. Jirou raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"It's just. . . She's weird."
"In this day and age, everyone is. You're gonna have to be specific."
"It's... she's... I just... I don't-"
"Spit it out. It's on the tip of your tongue," Mina said.
"She's like a brick wall!" She finally spat, breathing hard.
Yaoyorozu's eyebrows furrowed. "Is it because of her quirk or...?"
"I mean, she's kinda rude, and defensive and...and she doesn't talk to any of us!"
The room was silenced at Uraraka's admission. Then Jirou spoke.
"Where is all this coming from?"
Uraraka ran a nervous hand through her hair. "I just don't understand why. We're good people. I don't know."
"You've made many claims Uraraka-chan, kero," Tsu said.
"I know. It's just... I find it suspicious. Notice how we barely know anything about her? She's just this random person we met and now we're living with her. And the things we do know had to be forced! I swear she's hiding something."
That was true. You hadn't really given them anything to work with. Or so one would think.
"We converse frequently, though," Yaoyorozu admitted.
"What?!" Uraraka's head whipped to Yaoyorozu.
"Yes. We have conversations. She isn't always forthcoming, but you have to be patient. She's quite interesting."
"When was the last time?"
"Two days ago? I believe."
Yaoyorozu had their attention now. "What did you talk about?" Mina asked, dropping the Rubix cube she was solving.
"Well..."
You sat at the center table of the living room, a book in your palms. You were engrossed in the reading, the tension in the chapter heating up.
"(Y/N)?"
You jumped, heart thumping in your chest. "Oh, it's just you," you breathed a sigh of relief.
Yaoyorozu gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry."
"No need to apologize. I wasn't paying attention."
Yaoyorozu nodded, her gaze landing on the book in your lap. Recognition dawned on her face.
"You like mythology?"
You looked stunned. "You do?"
Yaoyorozu seemed to light up. "Yes! I enjoy all of Rick Riordan's books."
You looked excited, yet skeptical. "Favorite series?"
"Between the Kane Chronicles and Heroes of Olympus."
You gasped. "Holy fuck."
Yaoyorozu plopped onto the couch next to you, stunned. "Oh my goodness. Favorite god?"
"Either Dionysus or Hades. Hestia and Athena too."
"Oh definitely, Hades is too underrated, but I don't agree with how he went about with Persephone. But..."
Soon you were both engrossed in conversation about mythical gods and goddesses.
"So we both hate Zeus, right?"
You scoffed. "Oh definitely. If you're a Zeus fan, you're a red flag."
"The fact that he hasn't been thoroughly punished yet still upsets me. And he wonders why Hera despises him, even though she's the goddess of marriage."
"Too bad Hera can't kill him. Olympus would be better off."
Yaoyorozu giggled. Soon, you were giving each other book recommendations in sci-fi and romance, as well as interesting memoirs and historical fiction. Yaoyorozu smiled as you raved about another series you'd been reading about a lost princess from the moon and her rag-tag group of friends. This was something she could get used to.
"And that concludes what occurred."
The group was silent.
"So she's a nerd?" Mina asked.
"That's a derogatory term. How about a bookworm? Then yes."
"That was the cutest thing I'd ever heard," Jirou admitted.
"You should've seen her face. She was absolutely delighted."
Uraraka was silent while the girls discussed with each other. She felt slightly guilty at what she said. But she stood by the fact that you were secretive.
She considered herself a sleuth, and she was going to sleuth you out.
...
"Achoo!" you sneezed for the tenth time that day, rubbing your nose and eyes.
"You good boss?" Energizer asked, pulling a tissue from his pocket.
"Yeah," you sniffed, sneezing again. "Allergies, I think."
"But you never have them this many times in a row."
"Maybe someone's talking about you?" Arsenal said. You shrugged, blowing your nose.
"They're probably talking shit."
End. I sorta liked this chapter. Thanks for reading, don't forget to vote and comment. I hoped you liked it! I'll post again tomorrow!
