First Day

You are one crazy motherfucker, you thought to yourself as you stumbled through the door, multiple grocery bags in your arms. Kya and Oliver's little arms carried light bags as well, their feet tripping over one another. You three padded to the kitchen, starting to arrange them. You ignored the presence of the strangers in the home.

You're helping wanted criminals. Putting both your life and your children's life in danger. You are one dumbass motherfucker.

The entire ride to and from the grocery store was filled with unwanted, admonishing thoughts. So much so that you could barely hear Kya and Oliver talking to you. You continued to scold yourself as you moved through the house.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, stupid, dumb, irrational, rash, stupid...

Japan's heroes all sat, awkwardly twiddling their thumbs as you worked.

"Do you need help?" Midoriya asked.

"I'm good."

"Are you sure?"

"Yup," you replied, popping the p.

The house ensued into an awkward silence as you continued to arrange your kitchen. You relieved Kya and Oliver from their grocery duties to watch tv in your room, so it was just you clattering around.

Iida leaned closer to Kaminari. "Your friend is very... independent, Kaminari-kun," Iida whispered, looking back to make sure (Y/N) wasn't listening.

"I know right! Isn't that cool?"

"Yes, but it also brings awkwardness to the group when it seems she doesn't want to acknowledge our presence and existence."

Kaminari shrugged."I think it's best, for now. She needs to get used to us for a few days. She's really cool once you get to know her."

Iida raised a skeptical eyebrow, before shrugging and turning away from him.

Kaminari got up from the couch, walking to you. He leaned against the kitchen counter, watching you work. Your headphones were plugged in, loud music playing to alleviate your emotions. Your eyebrows were furrowed, almost angry at the groceries.

Can't believe you're doing this right now, you argued with yourself.

No use in getting angry about it. What's done is done. Now you have to see it through.

I just hope nothing bad happens.

"How are you?"Kaminari asked out of the blue.

"Good."

"Cool, are you sure you don't need help?"

"Yeah."

"Ok, how was the shopping?"

"Good."

"Good," Kaminari answered, uncomfortable with the tension in the kitchen.

"You guys hungry?" you asked, moving towards your fridge, "I have Chips Ahoy."

"We could eat."

"Ok. I'll make dinner soon." You passed him the pack, moving back to the cupboards. You were pulled back into your own world. Once he saw that you were no longer open for conversation, Kaminari left the kitchen, opening the cookies for his friends.

"Dinner will be served soon," Kaminari said, sullen. The group nodded, still sitting there in awkward silence and uncertainty.

Should they say something? Start a conversation? Something?

"Anyone allergic to shellfish?"

They all answered no, and the entire house became quiet again. The silence was suffocating, and the heroes felt as if they couldn't breathe. The silence was too loud. Nobody said anything.

About 30 minutes passed when you called them all for dinner. They sat at the table, some having to sit in the living room. They were having chicken and shrimp alfredo, which tasted really good.  But the air was awkward, which made it hard to enjoy the food.

While they ate, you arranged the clothes and things you'd bought for them, creating stacks for each person. Internally, you cried for your water bill, and the heavy-duty work you would do in the future.

Once dinner was finished, you went into each room, laying out futons and handing them each their own stack.

"Where did you get all this stuff?" Kaminari asked.

"Walmart."

After the last room, you bid them all goodnight. As they went to sleep that night, they couldn't help but think of the absurdity of their situation. They were wanted fugitives, in a different country, with a woman whom they don't know, and who ignores them.  Stress and worry was the main emotion they felt, and what they now have to live with until their situation was solved.

Meanwhile, your own worries were making you anxious and almost nauseous. Your stomach rumbled uncomfortably, so much so that you could barely eat. You were laying Kya down for bed when she asked a question, as all kids do.

"Mama?"

"Hmm?" you hummed, putting on her purple night light. You sat on the edge of her bed, tucking her in.

"Where are your friends from?"

Your hands froze. You weren't sure how to answer this question. It would seem simple to just say 'Japan' and be done. But you weren't sure if telling her that might bring up some trouble later.

If I tell her, she could tell her friends and in some way, the police will be at my doorstep and  I'll be arrested for associating with criminals, and then she could be taken away from me.

"I can't really tell you."

"Why not?" she asked, pouting.

You hummed in thought, then beckoned her as if you were going to tell her a secret.

"They're secret agents," you whispered.

"Really?" she gasped.

"Yes, but I need you to keep that a secret, ok? Nobody's supposed to know."

She nodded vigorously, zipping her lips and throwing the key away.

"Good girl, now go to sleep, you have school in the morning. I love you," you smiled, kissing her forehead.

"Love you too mama," she whispered, already falling asleep.

You smiled, but guilt sat in your stomach at the lie. You hoped that when this was all over, you could tell her the truth. But for now, you would have to live with this lie for a while.

End. This chapter is sort of a filler. Now, the pre-made chapters can be published. Hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to vote and comment! Make sure to eat something and take a break.
