"Hey Iida," Midoriya called out from his bed. The Dekusquad were gathered in the bedroom, putting a puzzle together. Iida looked up from the box with the photo, adjusting his glasses.

"Yes, Midoriya?"

"I've noticed that you and (Y/N) aren't talking. Like at all."

Iida hummed non-committally. Todoroki stayed silent, staring into space. Uraraka seemed to be ignoring them too. Tsu doesn't look up, but her ears were trained on the conversation. Shinsou perked up from the puzzle in surprise. He would've thought that you and Iida were best friends with how much you both have in common. He couldn't exactly describe your similarities, but they were there.

"What's that about?"

"We do talk. Most times, you all are unaware of our interactions."

Midoriya gave Iida a deadpanned look. "Greetings in the morning don't count."

Iida rolled his eyes. "There is nothing to discuss anyway. We have separate activities to focus on."

He was still slightly upset about the incident with Kaminari. You risked revealing their location, your home, to the authorities. He couldn't get over that. That was the moment he knew that you were reckless. You didn't care about them; you didn't care how your actions could affect them. He thought you'd be more responsible.

"C'mon Iida," Midoriya urged. "Even Kacchan and (Y/N) are friends. Kacchan. I'm sure they hated each other from the beginning. She's nice once you get to know her."

"I'm sure she is."

"Deku," Uraraka interrupted curtly. "Leave Iida alone. This is his choice. We don't have to be friends with everyone."

"I get that, but we're living in her house. At one point, you'll both have to be civil with each other. Plus, I thought you'd agree with me Uraraka-chan?!"

She shrugged. "It's our choice."

Midoriya shook his head. "You guys are missing out. She's a nice person, who'd definitely enjoy your company, and I'm sure you'd enjoy hers."

"We'll see Midoriya."

Hopefully soon.

Midoriya couldn't help but feel strongly about this. It didn't make sense for the entire group to be friends with (Y/N), except his best friends. At least Shinsou and Todoroki seemed to be fine. He was sure that they'd be his concern. He was surprised by Iida's and Uraraka's attitudes.

He hoped whatever problems they have with each other, will be resolved quickly.

Warning: panic attack

Kya awoke with a gasp, her small body heaving. Her lips quivered, frantically looking around her pitch-black room, clutching her blanket. Her hands shook, tightening her grip on the blanket.

She needed to leave, now. The walls were closing in on her. Someone was coming. Something big, devilish, and scary. She threw off her covers, sprinting to her mother's room.

She knew her mother could fix this. She always did.

You were asleep, turned on your side when the door creaked open. Frightened Kya peeked into the room, staggering across the carpeted floors, whimpering. Her breathing was still hard, her body shaking.

You felt a presence in the room, willing you to wake up. Your brows furrowed, then you shot up from your bed. Kya yelped, trying her best not to cry.

"Mama," she sobbed, her voice cracking.

"Baby?" you called, picking her up. Your voice was tired yet worried. You pulled her to you, and she buried her head into your chest. You noticed her heaving, quickly grabbing the inhaler in your bedside drawer.

"Deep breaths sweetheart," you murmured, shaking the inhaler. You put it to her mouth, instructing her to breathe in deeply. Once her breathing calmed a little, you pulled her to your chest, making her breathe with you. You rubbed soothing, warm circles on her back. Her body gradually relaxed, calming both you and her down. You rested on the headrest, Kya resting atop of you.

"You feel better?" you asked after a moment. She nodded into your chest, clutching your tank top tightly. You grimaced at the scratch on your chest.

"Wanna talk about it?"

She shook her head. You nodded, continuing to rub circles on her back.

"I think it'll make you feel better."

She hesitated for a moment, before explaining. "It was the scary lady again."

You tensed, pulling her closer. You knew who she was talking about.

"She hurt my mommy, and other people too. She hurt Ollie a lot. Then you came, and you hurt me too," Kya whispered.

A crack in your heart. Your arms tightened around her small form.

"There was blood everywhere, and you were being scary. I screamed, but no one heard me. You didn't care."

You raised your head to the ceiling. You released a shuddering breath, before looking down at your child.

"My love, listen to me," you began. Her head rose to you. "That woman can never hurt you again. I will never allow it. And I promise that I will never, ever hurt you. I swear on my life."

Kya nodded, hugging you. "I love you."

"I love you too. So much. Wanna stay here?"

She nodded. You lay on your side, facing Kya. Your body curled around hers, making her safe and incredibly warm. Kya sighed, snuggling closer into your skin. It wasn't more than an hour when you heard smaller footsteps padding into the room. You smiled, having a feeling of who it was.

"Oliver?"

The little boy jumped. He swore he was being sneaky, being careful to leave Spot on his bed.

Kya's head popped up from the bed. "Come join us!"

You smiled as Oliver climbed up on the bed, curling around you. "You ok?"

"Mhm."

"Are you here because Kya's here?"

Oliver nodded into your back. "I was worried."

You cooed at that. Since adoption, they were glued together, so much so that one knew when the other was in distress.

"It's ok. She's fine."

You turned on your back, circling them both in your arms. "Let's go back to sleep."

The children nodded, sinking to the comfort of your room. While you listened to their soft breaths, your brain chose to stay awake. You lay, contemplating Kya's nightmare. You willed your eyes to relax, not to cry. Kya's word's hurt, but you couldn't blame her. She's been hurt too many times, and she's still getting used to feeling safe. At least, that's what you convinced yourself.

End. We finally have an Iida chapter. I've been putting it off because I was unsure of where I was going with his storyline. Also, this chapter marks the end of arc 1. This arc was mostly creating the basis for the romantic aspect of the plot. It took a long time to get here, but I'm glad I took it. So, arc two will bring out more of (Y/N)'s character, and I'll (hopefully) build up the villain(s). I can't wait for you guys to read it. There will be some slight angst, something we should be used to by now. So far, my angst isn't that sad. That might change.

Anyways, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to vote and comment! Have a good day/night. Newbie signing out.
