In about a week, things were back to normal. You were you, and they were they. No one else brought up the upcoming adoption. They opted to keep their thoughts to themselves. You were grateful. You didn't need anyone berating you like a child.
The group learned plenty of things about you throughout their stay. You were secretive, determined, incredibly strong, and smart. Your heart was steered to the safety and happiness of everyone around, no matter the limits. You were sympathetic when it came to younger people, and you cared. All good qualities in a hero.
They (some separate, some as a collective) learned a few personal things about you. From some of your favorite colors to your choice of food.
But one certain thing was that you were a nerd.
"Admit it! You stole your hero name!" Midoriya accused.
"I did not!"
"Yes, you did! I knew your name sounded familiar! It's from DC's Teen Titans!"
You shook your head, covering your ears. "I'm not listening. Lalala!"
"Her and beast boy dated—"
"I'm still not listening! Can you tell him I'm not listening?!" you shout at no one.
He pointed a finger at you. "You're only mad cause I'm right! You have the same quirk too!"
You shook your head vehemently. "That's not true."
Currently, on your rare days off, you'd stayed home, hanging with Midoriya. You enjoyed his company a lot, maybe even the most out of the rest of the groups. He was smart and a bit of a nerd, which you found adorable. He understood things that made you seem weird. He was nice, overall.
While hanging out, he had a revelation. He'd mentioned before that a lot of your hero persona was familiar to him, but he couldn't remember where. Until now.
"You know it's true. You guys have the same quirk, probably the same suit—"
"Look here motherfucker," you pointed a daring finger at him. His eyes crossed staring at your newly manicured nail.
"Don't ever accuse me of stealing from that show. My name is unique. Plus, if you're really talking about origins, it's the Latin prefix for the earth and land. And I grabbed inspiration from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra."
Midoriya paused. "What's that?"
A deadly silence.
You gasped. You ran up the stairs, slamming open doors and asking the same question. "Do you know what avatar the last air bender is?"
Each of them answered the same. No. Kaminari even had the audacity to ask if it was the blue people.
By now, you looked like you'd seen a ghost. But your face hardened into resolve. You dragged every member of your house downstairs to the living room. You made them all sit, while you went to grab your extra blankets and popcorn. It was time for a marathon.
"The hell are we doing here dirt face?" Bakugo grumbled.
"We are here to watch one of the greatest shows of all time," you answered vaguely. You turned on the TV and put it on Netflix, and immediately searched for the show. Once you found it, you squeezed between Kirishima and Midoriya.
"I'm positive you guys are going to like this show. It's awesome and part of my childhood."
You clicked the first episode.
...
You were already nearing the end of season 1, and the group was engrossed. You smirked, paying close attention to the fight between Master Pakku and Katara. You loved season one, but you couldn't wait for them to see season two. They'd get to finally see one of your favorite characters: Toph.
