I'm alive!
Three days after "A Demonstration"
"I knew it!" she screeched, pacing the living room floors. "I knew there was something off about her! She's been hiding something all this time!"
Uraraka and Iida were in the living room, the sky dark. Not one soul had moved into the house. The children were at Maya's house, and you picked up an extra shift at your agency. The rest of the house was asleep in their rooms, dead to the world. Except them.
"It was too convenient, the way she let us in so easily, yet shut us out just as fast. The constant secrets, the coming and going, the inconsistency, the secret meet-ups—"
As soon as Uraraka had finished hearing all that she needed, she ran quickly to Iida, in hopes of regaling the information. Of course, the others were concerned about why she was out of breath and running out of the house, but she waved off their concern.
"She's been trying to turn us in the entire time!"
Iida shook his head. "That doesn't sound right. She wouldn't do that."
Uraraka rolled her eyes. "Yes, she would! She endangered Kaminari by taking him to her agency, right?"
"But they didn't get caught."
"Maybe that was her plan all along! Lure us into a false sense of security, and then stab us in the back. She's proven time and time again she only cared about herself and all that concerns her."
Iida scratched the stubble on his usually clear chin. "Maybe we should wait for more evidence."
"I'm getting sick and tired of waiting!" she whisper-shouted into the night.
"We need to confront her now. She's done too much and put us in more danger! And no one seems to care! What more evidence do we need?!"
"What will the others say?"
She scoffed. "They'll see reason once we explain."
Iida raised a brow. "Are you sure?"
Uraraka paused for a moment. The thought about how close you'd become to her friends. Would they believe her over you?
She shook her head at those thoughts. "They have to see reason, or else we're doomed."
Iida nodded. "Alright. We'll talk to them tomorrow."
...
You sat on the couch languidly, your body sagging into the couch. Everything was calm and sweet. The trio was giggling as they watched Pocahontas, snacking on strawberries and chocolates. You were barely able to keep your eyes open, feeling warm under the blanket. Your eyes were closing when you heard a commotion from upstairs.
"And I'm saying that you're fucking dumb!"
Your eyes fluttered, trying to fall under the soft lull of sleep. You could deal with that later.
"Mama?" Oliver called out quietly. You could hear the fear in his voice.
"Everything's okay, baby. It's probably Mr.B being Mr.B," you muttered sleepily.
Aria voiced her thoughts. "I'm not sure, Auntie. He sounds really angry."
"Yeah, Mama. Scowly doesn't sound too good when he does that."
You sighed, pulling off the comfortable blanket. "Alright. I've got this. In case this is bigger than it sounds, you guys should go watch TV in my room for now. I'll be back."
They each nodded, trailing off to your room. You stood up from your makeshift bed, stretching. You popped a few bones, groaning at the sound of each.
"Here I come," you grumbled under your breath.
