"She's beating them easier than we thought," Todoroki murmurs, watching as you fought in Chicago. "Much better than my father at least."

"Let's not jinx it," Midoriya says, biting at his nails. They were wide awake, unable to fathom sleeping while you were out fighting the Nomus. They watched as you contained each one with your sidekicks, on the edge of their seats.

So far, you fought 3 Nomus, all within a span of a night. They don't know how much longer you have before your drawbacks start catching up. While they noticed you've been healing between fights, it can only go so far.

With each fight, they watched as you became victorious, flashbacks of the past flying behind their eyes. They burned with the need to help you, yet felt the reins of restraint hold tie them to their seats. They could only hope that you would make it out alive.

...

"Did that thing fucking talk?!" Energizer and Lightning screech.

The Nomu scoffed. "Disgusting."

Its surprisingly focused eyes flitted to you. "Are these the heroes sworn to protect this country?"

Before you could signal a pause, Strongman charged at the beast. He threw a harsh punch, though the Nomu didn't seem affected. Their arms were locked with each other, both of them snarling.

"Pitiful," it sneered at Strongman, flinging him to God knows where.

Angel charged in, swiping her knife against the hulking beast.

"Predictable," it said, swatting her like a fly.

Arsenal shot as many bullets as she could, each of them bouncing off the thing. It picked her up by the neck, her hands scrambling for purchase.

"Is this all you can do? Is this America's best?" It spat.

She was discarded like trash, her head bashing into a trash can.

"Weak."

An arrow cut through the air, stabbing into the back of the Nomu. It didn't even flinch, staring at the arrows like a mosquito on its back. It pulled it out, the muscle around it healing quickly.

"Pathetic," it snarled.

You launched a barrage of rock at the Nomu, each of them getting smashed by its fists.

"I'm invincible. Therefore you cannot stop me with pebbles."

You jumped back, the Nomu's fists digging into the place you were. That was how the fight continued, you evading with it punched.

"You cannot evade me forever. Victory is not in your favor."

You ignored the obvious taunting, trying to keep your wits about you.

"I cannot believe my master sent me here. He said I would fight America's greatest warrior. Where are they? Where is America's chosen? I only see a weak being." The Nomu roared with laughter, barely bracing itself from Aerial's gusts.

A well-aimed punch to the side knocks you away. Pain floods behind your eyes as your back meets a lampost.

Before another punch could be aimed, a sword glides through the air, slicing through its meaty palm. You're sure a major artery was hit.

Instead of pain, it smiles. Humanoid teeth shine at you, lips pulled and stretched awkwardly, as if they'll rip at any moment.

"You think a little cut will hurt me?" he laughed at the absurdity of it all. "You truly have no idea what you're going against."
