Hey...😅
You breathed deeply, laying on the soft blanket in your large backyard. You laid starfish, hands in the grass and legs spread out. The vibrations from the ground were minimal, and if you focused hard enough you could feel the tiny feet of the little critters in the ground.
Nature, you learned, was almost like a second home. Without any distractions, you could feel relief. The sun shined gently on you, warming your skin and the blanket, a cool breeze kissed your skin, and the earth's vibrations were quiet, barely noticeable. The air was fresh and clear, the deep greens of the leaves beautiful and shady. The sky was filled with fluffy white clouds, with round bumps and curves.
It was beautiful and peaceful, but most of all: quiet. Your eyes closed with a smile, breathing in deeply and absorbing the tranquility.
"What are you doing out here?" a deep, gravelly voice asked. Your eyes fluttered open, (e/c) meeting deep purple.
"Relaxing. Isn't it nice?" you asked Shinsou.
"Mm," he hummed. Your eyes fluttered closed again, and you breathed deeply.
He shuffled, sitting with his legs crisscrossed next to you. "I don't know why you would relax out here. It's so... nature-y."
You snorted. "That's what's good about it."
"But why though?"
"No distractions, no problems, nothing to worry about. Just me and the great outdoors."
"Mmmm," he contemplated for a moment. "The indoors are better."
You scoffed. "Of course they are, but I can't handle being indoors right now."
"Why not?"
"I don't feel like telling you."
Shinsou raised a brow. "You ok?"
You hummed. "I will be. I just need a little space."
He still looked concerned.
"It's nothing serious. Just, very suffocating in the house right now. Way too many people," you assured.
Shinsou nodded. "Understandable."
He sat with you longer, the rustling of the leaves and the breeze the only sound present. Slowly, he understood what you saw in nature. Maybe it was your connection to the earth through your quirk, but the soft atmosphere, the crisp air, and warm sun, the sweet chirping of the birds, and the light breeze brushing over your skin, it was calming.
Soon, he was laying beside you, body turned in the opposite direction from your own. You pointed out the different clouds and what shapes you thought they were quietly, your voice warm in his ear. You don't see the look that passes his face at your quiet observations.
"Mama!" Kya shouted from the patio. "I've been looking for you everywhere!"
You felt her feet patter toward you, and a slow smile spread across your face. "Hey, baby."
She greets Shinsou, then sits crisscrossed next to you. "Why are you on the floor?"'
You shrugged. "I like it."
She attempted to push you, and you giggled as her hands tickled your sides. You scooted over, letting her lie down and see what you were seeing.
It was quiet for a moment.
"I'm bored."
You sighed. "What do you want to do?"
"Can we play that game?"
