"This may be a weird question, and feel free to ignore it, but do you dance?" you'd asked Sero randomly.
You were both in the basement, your bodies sweaty from exercise. Sero had suggested some yoga, with the recommendation from Iida and his concern for your body after the...incident. As he taught and showed you his moves, you noticed how flexible he was. He did each pose with ease, an ease you had before everything.
He felt his face flush in surprise. "Why do you ask?"
"I don't know, you just look like your good at the tango or something. Or ballet."
He blushed even harder, looking away from you. He scratched his elbows awkwardly.
No motherfucking way.
You gasped. "You do know how to tango! Can you waltz too? That'd be so cool! Can you salsa? I've always wanted to learn to dance, but I've been so busy and haven't found time to get a class. It just looks ... nice and pleasing."
He glanced at you. "You're not going to make fun of me?"
"Why would I?"
"Cause you look like the type," he slapped a hand over his mouth, darting to you for signs of offense.
Instead, you laughed. "Maya told me the same thing. I guess cause I look mean? I promise I'm not. At least not all the time."
"Kaminari says otherwise."
"He knows it's all jokes. But you really know how to dance? Like for real?"
"Want me to show you?"
"YES!! I mean," you cleared your throat. "Yes, I would love to."
Sero smiled nervously, standing. "Play something upbeat would you?"
You nodded, playing something high tempo. He nodded to the beat, his hips moving. You stared, mesmerized. He moved confidently; as if you weren't even there anymore. You smiled in amazement.
Man, he can dance.
Once he was done, he let out a deep breath. "I haven't danced like that in a while. I'm kinda rusty."
"Rusty? That looked professional!"
He laughed at the compliment, rubbing the back of his neck. "Thanks. Maybe I could teach you? Since you seem interested."
Your eyes lit up, and Sero found that he liked when your eyes did that. "Really? I might step on you."
"Nothing I haven't been through before."
"Are you sure? I have two, heavy left feet."
"Yes, I'm sure. It's probably not that bad."
"Ok," you nodded, playing a song on the speaker. The soft music started to play, and Sero gently grabbed your hips, pulling you closer to him.
"Are you ready?" he asked, mouth curved into a smile.
"As I'll ever be," you half-shrugged.
"Don't worry, I'll make this worth your while," he winked, getting into position.
"'Kay, so dancing in pairs is intimate. The chemistry needs to be felt for the dance to be good," he starts, pulling you into position. "Eye contact is important as well as trust. You need to trust your partner, or else the dance will be stiff and awkward. Do you trust me?"
You looked up at him, his eyes sparkling with excitement and trepidation.
"Yeah, I do." You surprised yourself. It was true.
