Asperse: charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone.

"Fuck!" Kirishima yelled over the police sirens and megaphones.

"Who the hell called the cops?!" Kaminari shouted.

"I don't fucking know!" Bakugo snapped.

"What are we supposed to do now?!" Mina asked.

Everyone looked towards Midoriya. Midoriya's head was bowed, a defeated look on his face.

"They've got us surrounded. There's no choice but to surrender and work this out," Midoriya said, sauntering out of the warehouse with his hands up. Everyone gawked at the door.

"GET DOWN NOW!" an officer yelled. "HANDS IN THE AIR!" The heroes heard the multiple clicks of safeties going off.

The heroes shifted their gaze to Iida and Momo, some of the smartest people of their class as well as the chosen people to lead their class. Momo glanced at Iida, a worried expression on her face, while Iida did the same. They searched each other's eyes as if communicating. Soon, their faces morphed into one of defeat and determination. They both nodded.

"We all should do the same. We cannot evade the police," Iida started.

"It will give the public more reason to believe that we have gone 'rogue'. We must not be perceived that way, or else it will be catastrophic in the future," Momo finished.

"Not you guys too!" Kaminari groaned.

"What if this doesn't get fixed as we think?" Jirou said, "what happens then?"

"We will have to bear those consequences until they are sorted out. We are innocent until proven guilty," Iida said. He turned towards the door.

"WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE. THIS IS THE POLICE. COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP!"

"We are Japan's heroes and we are bound by the law. We must do as the officers say so that the circumstances and consequences can be reduced." Iida, his face determined, stepped out of the warehouse.

"Well, I guess that's settled then...." Kaminari trailed off, "It was good working with you guys. We had a nice run. See you on the other side."

Everyone else nodded. Many had tears in their eyes, some had scrunched-up faces, and most had scowls. But, they all resigned to their fate and stepped away from the safety of the shadows, and into the headlights of justice.

...

Katsuki Bakugo's hands were cuffed, chained to the interrogation table. He glared at the one-way mirror, his blood boiling. He felt like his temper was going to make him explode. He hadn't felt this way since high school. He couldn't believe it. The sweat, blood, and energy he put into becoming a hero were for nothing.

This shit has me entirely fucked up.

The door finally opened, and a man in a suit shuffled into the room.

"Hello Mr.Ground Zero. My name is Detective Hiroshi Hiryur. I would like to remind you that you do have a right to an attorney and if you cannot afford one, we can and will provide you-"

"Fuck yeah I would like a lawyer," Bakugo interrupted, lightly pulling the cuffs.

"Alright then. You have been charged with robbery, assault, and vandalism of public property," the interrogator shuffled his files and signaled through the one-way mirror, "A lawyer will be in shortly. Meanwhile, I'd like to go over" Bakugo rolled his eyes, zoning out as Hiryur babbled about the crimes he allegedly committed. With Deku.

Bakugo almost gagged. Most of the public knew about their rivalry. Most thought it was friendly and playful, but their friendship circle knew differently. Katsuki Bakugo was competitive, and he was not friendly with Deku. He was barely civil with him. Didn't matter that he knew what his quirk was and where he got it from. Doesn't matter that they've known each other their whole lives. He did not like Deku. So the fact that the police think he would work with him to commit a crime was absurd.

"Where were you during Sunday on  XX/XX/XXXX?"

"I was out."

"Where?"

"The supermarket."

"What were you doing at the supermarket?"

"What the fuck do you think I was doing at the fucking supermarket? Getting married? Dumb bitch," Bakugo spat, muttering the last part to himself.

He wondered if everyone else got a stupid interrogator or if it was just him. another irritating person all in his personal space. He felt a vein start to pop as the interrogator asked more questions, asking about specific times of where he was and whatnot.

"I'm tired of this shit!" Bakugo cursed. "I didn't do this shit! I was at the fucking grocery store, and went fucking home right after, dumbass!"

"Well, unfortunately, sir, we have evidence that contradicts you. The video footage, fingerprints, and much more. This is a closed case."

Bakugo closed his eyes, heart pounding as he processed the interrogator's words. There will be no way to get out of this...

He hadn't felt this hopeless since he had been kidnapped and proceeded to fail his provisional license.

What was he supposed to do now?
