This chapter is going to be really long(almost 3k). These storylines need to be addressed.

You all gathered in the living room, hanging out after dinner. Kya, Oliver, and Aria sat on the floor of the living room, playing with their toys. Maya was staying over for the night because of how swamped you are with work.

You'd work all day tomorrow, and the day after. As always, there was no rest for the wicked, and crime was at an all-time high in Texas, not to speak of the entire country. It was going to take an incredible amount of gas and energy to bring it back down. Again.

"Hey, (Y/N)?" Midoriya called, swirling his cup of juice in thought.

"Hm?" you answered without a thought, eyes trained on your laptop screen.

"What was life like for you in high school?"

You glance up from the screen, your blue light glasses perched low on your pretty nose. You pushed them up, shrugging. "Meh."

"'Meh?'" he repeats. You nod, focusing back on the screen. Bakugo huffs, slamming it closed from where he sits beneath you.

"Hey!" you shouted, slapping his head. "I was working on that."

He growled at you in retaliation. "Deku asked you a fucking question."

"I thought I freaking answered it already," you say through gritted teeth.

He shook his head. "That's not an answer."

You huff, crossing your arms. "Whatever happened to free will, Bakugo?"

Bakugo rolled his eyes. "Just answer the damn question."

You sigh, taking off your glasses. Looks like you weren't getting any work done today.

"High school was a fever dream, in all honesty," you start, resting your back on the couch. "Every single thing that I saw felt like it wasn't real."

Bakugo scoffed. "You live in America."

"True," your lips thin. "But things started getting real during sophomore year of high school."

They sit up at that, suspense flooding the room.

"(Y/N) lore!" Mina cheered. You shot her a look, and she deflated with a sheepish giggle.

"Back then, everyone was feeling the effects of All Might's retirement."

"Really?" Mina asked leaning toward you.

You nodded. "Remember, he studied over here, so that's why most of his moves are named after the country. But then he retired, and crime became terrible. Which didn't make sense, since it's America, you'd think we'd have plans for stuff like that."

"Can you get to the point?"

You rolled your eyes. "Slow down, Bakugo. You're not gonna get it if I rush through. Anyway, this brought in the need for more heroes. Heroes were slacking off previously, corruption was thriving, and all sorts of stuff. So, the president at the time brought in the students."

They knew where this was going.

"He was desperate. Congress was getting on his butt, he was getting phone calls, letters, emails, notes, everything. So he thought, 'Let's bring in the kids. Gives them experience and such'."

"That wasn't the best decision. If officials thought the older heroes were bad, they should've paid attention to the younger ones. Some took advantage of their newfound privilege, doing stuff in the name of 'heroism'.

By this time, I'd finally chosen to join the hero course. It was a major decision that I didn't want to take lightly. I knew the implications and knew my family wouldn't be happy because of the unnecessary risks. But I wanted to change the world, and this was the best way to do it. I devoted my all, stopped burglaries, saved animals from trees, helped with natural disasters, the whole nine yards. And the world loved it. The press was eating it up. I was the next Spiderman."
