"Have a nice nap?"

I barely open my eyes, looking up, watching as the blurred man in front of me comes into view. His armored attire, the green hoodie he always wore, the gun holstered directly on his right thigh, the metal glistening in the pale winter light. Clay. It was Clay. He looked rough, his mask having dirty scratches down it, his clothes having the occasional rip. It looked as if he had just fallen down a cliff.

"Fuck." I mutter quietly, as I knew I had been caught. I quickly get out of my ball, kneeling quickly as if to attempt to escape if necessary.

"Oh no, you don't." Clay's boot comes into contact with my torso, shoving me back down to the ground, my knees hitting the snow once again. At this point, my heart was racing, racing faster than I thought was possible. My eyes darted towards his, watching in complete silence as he breathed, his frame quickly rising and falling as his hand lay across his holster as if to shoot me at any moment.

"I've been looking for you for 3 fucking hours, I'm not going to let you just get away." His face was furious, a sadistic smile on his face. He truly went mad I'd say. Had it really been 3 hours? The presidency was at 2, so it'd be around 5?

I quickly turn my head up, looking at the sky above me, the sky showing dim light.

I feel his piercing gaze melting my skull, judging my every move. The cool breeze hitting my face. I lower my head barely, looking at him. We stare in silence, the man simply admiring the fact that he had finally found me. He squats down so that he is at my level, him staring directly into my eyes. I watch as his hand begins to creep to his thigh, grabbing a dagger out of one of his belt loops, maintaining eye contact.

He falls to his knees, showing the knife to me, the sun shimmering on the sharp blade. I simply watch, unsure at what he was trying to say. His other hand begins to fall to his other thigh, grabbing a small rope out of a small hand bag he was carrying around his waist.

"I'm shocked you hadn't died." He exclaims quietly, laying the rope and knife down next to him, scooping up both of my hands with his right, his left grabbing the rope. I don't respond, only watching him.

"This is the quietest I've ever seen you. Usually you always have something to say." He exaggerates this, the hold on my hands tightening, wrapping the red, delicate rope around my wrists, looping through my fingers, creating small knots as he goes.

"Look. I've sitting in snow for 3 hours with a broken wrist, the last thing I want to is get shot." I speak in a quiet and calm voice, not moving my body, allowing my arms to practically go limp, allowing Clay to do whatever.

I truly couldn't care less. I was so delusional from the cold and pain, I could barely understand anything that was going on around me. I find myself staring at him as he wraps my hands, him tightening the rope around my injured wrist, looking me in the eye as he does so. Implying he had meant to do so. I simply do not stop staring at him, my emotionless gaze becoming fixated onto his lip, a thin scar running down his face.

"How did you scar your lip?" I speak quietly, not sure on how to express my pain. He quickly ties a final knot, tying down the rope so I couldn't escape. He simply does not answer my question, not even acknowledging I had said anything in fact.  I watch as he grabs the knife placing it directly under the excess rope giving a quick jolt up, the dagger slicing through it immediately. God knows how sharp that thing was. I sure didn't want to find out. I lower my head a bit, watching what he was doing.

I simply watch, my expression barely shifting, me straining my body as to keep away from the knife. Clay watches me tense up, the cool metal of the knife pressed gently against my skin. He simply looks up to me, his gloved hand meeting mine, pressing his thumb against my palm, sending shivers up my spine. I quickly jolt my head up, looking him quickly in the eye. The adrenaline kicking in all of a sudden.

"The fuck are you doing?" I finally speak, after feeling as if I had completely lost my voice.
"I'm checking if the frostbite has gotten to your palm yet. I assume it has not." He tells me in a calm voice, taking his hand away from mine, sliding the dagger back into his pocket.

"Frostbite?" I ask, genuine fear striking my chilled expression.
"You've been out here for 3 hours. Of course you have frostbite." He grabs my finger tips, holding them out to him, running his hand gently across them, the numbed pain causing me to clench my jaw.
"Ah! Yeah!" I speak quickly, my body beginning to shiver vigorously. Trying to take my hands away from his hold, failing terribly as I had forgotten that I had been tied up. I watch as he smiles, the amusement hitting his expression. He throws my hands back towards my body.

He reaches down, grabbing the rope from the ground, jolting up quickly, shooting me to my feet, leaving me inches away from the man before me. I quickly hold my breath, terror rushing my expression. I had never expected to ever be this close to him. Especially after what happened. This is weird.

"Hi." I sheepishly say, still sharing an uncomfortable closeness with this man.
"Hey." He speaks, somehow making the situation even more awkward. Somehow.

We retain eye contact for about 10 seconds. 10 seconds too long. It felt like an eternity. I'm currently tied up, my ex holding the other end, alone in the forest, about 5 inches away from each others faces.

"What the fuck." I quietly say, beginning to laugh under my breath. Awkward laughter. This entire interaction is probably the most awkward thing I've ever done.
"Yeah." Clay only nods his head, blinking his eyes, finally coming out of his trance. "Oh my god." Clay quickly pushes me out of his grasp, my head smacking against the tree behind me, completely unable to get up as my hands were currently tied in front of me, I slide down. As I hit the snow under me, Clay quickly realizes and grabs me once again, this time feeding the rope out a bit so we were at least 3 feet away from each other.

"I am so sorry-" Clay apologizes profusely, before quickly remembering that he is supposed to be escorting me and has to keep a threatening aura, "serves you right." Clay mutters, his voice changing in an instant, coughing under his breath, trying to stop the awkwardness from eating away at his skin.

"I thought you were going to kiss me!" I exclaim to the man, puffing out a breath I had been holding on without even realizing it.

"Why would I kiss you, unlike you I have decency." He mutters, beginning to walk, me only being able to walk with him.

"You're one to talk about decency. Remember when you fucked our roommate, with me 5 feet away from you?" I smile, the absurdness had made me laugh. It was totally awkward laughter.

"Look, college was a dark time." He speaks quietly, as if to mask his shame.

"I agree. I slept with more people than I'd care to admit." I agree with my capture, as simply marching through the forest, kicking down the different thorn bushes.

"That doesn't shock me." He speaks simply, his sturdy voice practically echoing through the forest.

"Well at least I have a boyfriend." I mumble, rolling my eyes.

"Did you start dating before or after you sucked his dick?" I watched as a smirk forms on his face, him turning to look at me.

Me face simply drops to shock, amusement shooting across my face. I simply stand still, jolting his hand as he didn't expect me to not move with him.

...

"...Excuse me?"

...

We stare in utter silence for a second as the smile remains on his face.

"Care to answer that question?"

"That is none of your buisn-"

"Look, we both know you're a whore."

"After. But it was once!"

"My point exactly."
