Third POV -
Scarlett felt she had to stay focused, but she also knew that once the Red Room was in flames, she had to do whatever it took to make peace with Y/n. A single tear welled up in her eye as she unbuckled her seatbelt, swung around, and saw the others lying there. Y/n appeared to be dead as she lay there in a lifeless state. She sat up straight and watched the soldiers take each person out of the plane one at a time and carry them through the red room doors. As soon as one of them prepared to take up Y/n, Scarlett stepped in right away.
Scarlett: "Don't touch her!"
Guard: "Melina, I've got it."
Scarlett: "No, no. I'll take her."
Guard: "Fine, I'll get the redhead over there, don't forget Dreykov wants to see you."
Scarlett: "Yes, I know. I'll just take her with the others, and then I'll be on my way."
She gently lifted Y/n and held her in her arms before leaving the jet and entering the floating hell hole with the rest. Following the others' lead, she kept an eye on each of them to see that Evans and Lizzie were handled carefully. Scarlett entered a room full of glass cells after going up a couple flights of stairs. One of the guards entered the code, unlocked all the doors, and brought the people inside. Knowing that Y/n would be safer with Lizzie than being left alone, she crossed to her cell.
Guard: "What are you doing? Her cage is over there."
Scarlett: "I know, but uh, if she wakes up and finds she's by herself, she will put you guys through hell, so you might as well not suffer with the arguing."
Guard: "Whatever, just hurry up!"
She hurriedly entered, putting her in Lizzie's arms and giving her a brief forehead kiss while making sure no one else was around.
"I'll be back for you."
the last thing she had time to say before leaving and shutting the door. She became even more concerned when she saw that Yelena was nowhere to be found. She headed for his office, the one place she most feared.
A shiver ran down her spine as she strolled down the hallways and noticed an open window. Turning around, she saw all the widows rehearsing their motions, aiming their weapons in front of them, and turning their heads in her direction. Scarlett moved in the direction of the elevator and pushed for the upper level of the floating organisation. She entered through enormous wooden doors that opened as soon as she approached them. Knowing that she had to behave in a natural way, it took her a few seconds to slow down her breathing.
Dreykov: "My God, look at you, so, uh, how was the family reunion?"
Scarlett: "Oh, it was awful, all the Avengers were clingy and too emotional and needy."
Dreykov: "Just like old times, Hannah Stark, what's the deal with her? She thinks she's more powerful than me. Huh, these gases and antidotes are a pain in my ass. It's a problem. You need to sort it out."
Scarlett: "Hmm, I have nine pigs that will require attending to in my absence."
Dreykov: "Don't give a shit about your pigs."
Dreykov grabbed Scarlett by the shoulder and pulled her over the chair. He smacked his hand down on her head, forcing her to look up at him and ensuring she sat up straight while he explained his idea.
Dreykov: "Cut her brain out. Hmm! Identify the weakness."
Yelena's arms and legs were restrained, as she was lying on the metal bed with one of the surgeons drawing a line across her forehead. She glanced up at the ceiling, unsure of what to do next.
