Chapter 15

Hope's POV

I hear something up ahead of us and it gives me a bad feeling so I start to slow down "Ha I knew you had to be out of brea....." Kane laughed in my head but I cut him off quickly "No you idiot I can hear something ahead of us and it's giving me a bad feeling." I quickly explain, at this Kane stops dead in his tracks and starts sniffing the air. I follow suit and soon a smell I'm all to familiar with hits my nose, it makes my wolf wince.

"What is that smell Kane? I smelt it a lot when I was in the hole and there were other prisoners in there with me." I say to Kane as we both crouch low to the ground and listen, "They're rouges Princess, wolves without a pack and their fucking dangerous." Kane whispers even though we are talking through our minds.

An idea hits me and I know what I need to do I look at Kane and then go behind and tree, I quickly shift back to my human thanks to Selene, all I needed to do is picture my human form. Within seconds I was human again, I put my clothes on and stepped out crouching down as I make my way back to where I left a confused Kane.

"What are you doing?" I hear Kane growl in my head, "Wow didn't realise I could talk to you in this form as well, this makes the journey easier and I won't have to stop and write everything now." I say back excitedly "Princess focus why are you in human form again?" Kane growled at me again, that was really starting to wind up Selene.

I fix him with a glare before reminding him "Remember who you are speaking to" I can see Kane's wolf cower from me before I hear "Sorry Princess..... What's your plan?" I sigh before responding "You have to trust me ok?" he looks at me confused as I grab his knife and gun, I put his knife on the opposite side of my body to my knife and the same with his gun. Before he can say anything I stand up and start to walk away, "W, w, what are you doing?" he stutters at me, "Just stay here and watch." I say back to him glancing over my shoulder to him before cutting off our link.

"There's four of them." Selene informs me "How do you know?" I ask her back "I can smell them take a deep breath and you will too." she explains, I do as she said and I can pick up four scents that smelt the same but each one had a slight difference to it. "Let me take control." Selene demands "Ha no this is mine." I respond just as I step on a stick and it snaps I look down and then my eyes snap back to what I'm assuming Kane called the rouges, there are three sitting in front of me so I keep my eyes on them and listen for the forth and it doesn't take me long to hear him breathing. "Wow I'm impressed." Selene says in awe "NOT NOW." I growl to her wanting to roll my eyes. Instead I put on the most innocent look I can with the biggest doe eyes.

"Well, well, well what do we have here?" the one sat in the middle asks looking me up and down, I hold my hand to my throat and try to talk to indicate that I can't. The one in the middle looks at the other two and nods his head to them both, they both get up and walk off in different directions.

I keep my ears trained on their footsteps along with the fourth's breathing, I quickly look at the two walking away before widening my eyes and looking back at the one I assume is the leader. "Don't worry sweetheart they are just going to get their mates, I thought you would feel better with females." he says taking a step closer. Out of instinct I step back as well, the rouge lifts his hands in the air as if to say he means no harm. I know he is lying to me both with this gesture and what he said about his friends.

I can sense that I now have one either side of me and one behind just like I was hoping, "What are you doing Princess?" I hear Kane all but shout in my head "Just watch." I told him. I sense the two at either side were about to pounce first the one on the left so I grabbed my knife and stabbed him in the heart as he was about to land on me, the one from the right followed quick but I was faster.

I had shot him in the head before he even leapt off the ground. I had just enough time to smirk at the shocked leaded before number four leapt out from behind me I did a quick turn and threw my knife right into his Adam's apple, he was dead before he hit the ground. As I turned to the leader I could see him shaking in anger looking at his dead friends, "His about to shift so be ready." Selene warned. He shifted and by the time his front paws hit the ground I had my other gun pointed at his head, as he looked up a pulled the trigger hitting him between the eyes.

Only when he hit the ground did I let out the breath I was holding also with a smirk on my face looking at my handy work, "That was a lot easier then I thought." I said to Selene. "Well of course you trained for this." she replied "That's not what I meant, I meant emotionally. I thought that I would feel something but I don't, well I mean I feel glad I'm alive and their dead and really powerful but I don't feel guilt." I explain to her.

"Ohh." is all she can respond with for a second "Well you won't feel guilt it was a you or them situation, you will only feel guilt if a death is unnecessary or can be prevented." she states as if I should know all this already. "I'm new to this remember." I mumble at Selene "I know sorry." she replies with a small sigh.
