Chapter 14

Hope's POV

While Kane has his head to the ground with his hand extended towards me I grab a bit of paper "We don't have time for this Kane, that shot was too loud we need to move NOW." I wrote, I stomped over to him and shoved it into his hands.

"Princess I owe yo..." he stopped when he felt the note in his hand he read it with wide eyes then looked to meet my eye and I scowled at him, he jumped up and said "You're right I can do this later, ok grab the knives." he says nodding his head towards the guards. I grab both and give Kane his back I then put mine away along with the gun.

I look to Kane as to ask "What next?" but he gives me a blank expression for a second, then it hits him and he says "Oh right um, give him his scent back and bring yours back, just think about giving him his and then remember your own ok?" I do as he told me and release both scents when his sure I've done it he grabs the guard and we start walking out of the gate, when Kane feels we've gone far enough he drops the guard next to a cliff and tells me to take his scent again.

As I smell myself change to his scent Kane kicks him over the edge, "Ok I can only smell him so release your scent as well, just think about them mingling together ok?" he asks softly, I give him a small smile and do as he told me. I had a sniff and my scent was mixed with the guards and I turned to Kane with a triumphant smirk.

"Ok we need to get moving I don't think we have to worry about them finding the body and if they do it should be far too late for them to know that it's him." Kane said to me looking around to get his bearings when a thought comes to me, I grab the pen and paper and quickly right "Wait if we go back to the forest they will follow the scent that way, so what do we do now." when I've finish writing Kane is already reading over my shoulder. "That's a good question just let me think a second." Kane said looking around again like the answer will just come to him, he mutters under his breath "Hmm something to change her scent?".

"I can always help with that." a familiar voice said in my head making me gasp and jump, "Where the hell have you been?" I all but growl the question at her. "I'm sorry really I am but I had to go through my own trial while you were doing this?" she tried explaining "Save it for later just mask my scent now so we can go." I growl at her, I then broke off her thought's and blocked her before she can respond, I hear Kane chuckle as he is looking at me and I growl at him.

"From the look on your face Selene decided to make an appearance" he said with an amused look I nod then quickly write "Wait you knew she was coming back?" "Yeah I knew." he responded sadly "What is going on?" I wrote getting annoyed of always being the last to learn everything. "Later ok? Right now we need to get moving Selene has masked your scent you don't smell of anything so lets go quickly and quietly until I tell you otherwise ok?" Kane said looking me straight in the eye's, with one final curt nod we take off running in the direction of the forest.

We make it to the forest quickly and start making our way out of there for good, I've had to let Selene take over a little because all I want to do is look around. I've been locked up for a long time and I don't remember before that so really this is the first time I'm seeing everything directly, not through a TV screen.

"We need to shift but you haven't yet... I'll shift and you can jump on my back ok?" Kane say's as we continue our running and I nod in response, this will be the first shift I've ever seen. "Wait until you see Kane's face in a minute." Selene chuckles to me. "What do you mean?" I ask her "Haha you'll see." is all she replies before going silent. Kane start's to slow down and I follow until we come to a complete stop.

"Ok I'm gonna shift, you might want to turn around I don't want to shred my clothes so I'll have to get undressed." Kane says waiting for me to turn around "Ahh I wanted to see him shift." I say to Selene, I took so long to respond to Kane he said "Ok we will both turn around if that makes you more comfortable?" "Say yes." Selene quickly say's to me so I nod to him then turn around.

"You should strip as well." Selene tells me "But why do I need too?" I asked her confused "You're about to shift as well." she informs me, with wide eyes and shaking hands I start taking my clothes off. "Keep your panties on." Selene quickly says as I reach for the side of them "Ok." I respond even more confused. I hear the sound of bones breaking that lasts for about thirty seconds before I hear a low growl, I turn around to see a dark brown wolf. It's fur was so dark it looked almost black, almost but you could tell it was definitely brown.

Whilst I was looking at Kane's wolf I noticed his head was to the side with a weird look on his face "He want's to know why you got undressed." Selene explains to me "Ok so what now?" I ask her, "This will hurt for a second." she warns and then I feel it. The most intense pain I had ever felt, but as soon as it comes it starts to fade and the next thing I know I'm standing on four paws.

I look up at Kane with what I hope is a confused look but from the look on his face his just as shocked as me. "What the hell?" I hear in my head but it's a voice I don't recognise, "Who the hell are you?" I growl at the voice and for some reason I feel it cower. "I'm sorry Princess, my name is Felix and I'm Kane's wolf." says the voice proudly. I look at Kane with confusion while he's still looking at me with his mouth open and tongue hanging out, "Felix how is this possible and does Kane know we are talking?" I ask him.

"He doesn't Princess, right now his in too much shock but you can talk to him as well. Maybe that will snap him out of his shock because we really need to get moving." Felix responds "But how do I talk to him?" I ask "Just call his name in your mind." Felix explains before going quite. "Kane." I call through my mind but get nothing back "KANE." I all but scream and something in his eyes changed as his mouth snaps shut and he looks into my eyes for the first time since I shifted.

"H, how?" I hear him stutter back to me "How the hell would I know, but we don't have time for that now Kane, Felix says we have to get moving." I rush out at him. "You spoke to Felix." Kane asks stunned "Really Kane that's what you got from what I just said?" I respond then I say with more force "We can discuss all this later right now Felix says we have to move and I got a bad feeling his right so which way?".

This snap's him out of whatever thoughts he was having "You're right, ok this way." he says pointing his snout in the direction he wants us to go, I give him a nod to indicate that I need to follow him. He shakes his head then starts running, I take my first shaky step and before I know it I'm running next to Kane and I can't help the smile on both my face and Selene's.

"How are you keeping up?" asks Kane in my mind a little out of breath I can't help the chuckle that escapes my wolf earning me a grunt from Kane, "You're joking right I don't even think this is half speed for Selene." I say back with a little "Humpf." from Selene in agreement. "I should of known really considering you are the Moon Goddess and that must be how you can talk to me." he says proudly, but it only makes me worry because I'm still not sure I can be this Moon Goddess. "You must have faith, I have and I believe in you." Selene say's calmly but sternly.
