Chapter 62

Hope's POV

When I re-open my eyes I am no longer in the field with Hunter and our future children, I'm in our bed with my head in Hunters lap. He is sat up on his phone, he must feel me stirring because his hand goes to my hair "Little Mate, you're finally awake!" he exclaims, relief clear in his voice "H, Ho..." I try to say but my mouth and throat feel like they are full of sand paper, Hunter sense's this and already has a cold bottle of water at hand. He un does the lid and passes it to me, I gulp it down drinking nearly half before Hunter stops me.

He slowly pushes my hand and the bottle away from my lips "Little sips, you have been out for a while so too much to quick could make you ill." he explains and I give a slight nod of understanding, as my throat still hurts a bit. Once I have had a few more sips "Ho, how lo, long was I out?" I question "Almost twelve day's." he says sadly. I put my hand on his "I'm sorry I worried you for twelve day's and I'm sorry for causing you any pain or hurt." I apologise softly not looking him in the eye.

He tilts my head to look at him "Don't ever be sorry for helping and saving people." he tells me firmly, just then I remember those who surrendered. As if sensing my train of thought "Don't worry they have been given a house to stay in, and been left alone until you were awoke." he explains causing me to sigh "How about we go get breakfast and we get them to meet us in the dining room so we can discuss everything?" Hunter suggests I look at him "Have you spoken with them?" I question "I haven't left your side Little Mate." he replies softly.

I really look at him for the first time since waking up and realise just how tired he really looks, his once sparkling eyes now look a little dull. They have huge bags under them and his cheeks look a little sunken "Have you been eating?" I question sternly. Hunter looks down like a child being caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he won't make eye contact with me no matter how hard I try to force him to. I huff, roll my eyes and throw my hands up all at the same time "Really Hunter, really? What would have happened if there was an attack when I was asleep?" I question a little to harshly, seeing him flinch "I know alright, I know your mother has scolded me enough so please don't you as well." he pleads with me.

I can't stay mad at this man no matter how hard I try, stupid Alpha and his stupid puppy eyes and the stupid mate bond. I huff and get up to get ready, we head to the dining room and it is empty. I sit down looking up at Hunter "Where is everyone?" I question him "It's eleven thirty everyone else has eaten breakfast, I want you to eat something before the rouges come in to speak with you." he explains softly rubbing my cheek with his hand. A few servers come in with different foods and drinks, and lots of smiles and glad to see you awakes.

We eat in comfortable silence sneaking glances at each other, me with a constant blush Hunter with lust in his eyes. I know he is fighting with himself not to do anything that makes me uncomfortable, I wanted to complete the bond after the battle I just didn't realise I would be asleep for twelve days. He doesn't know I'm ready yet but tonight he will, I'm going to wear one of the night sets Blaire brought me without the boys knowing.

Once everything is cleared up Hunter links someone, I assume to get all the people that surrendered so I could speak with them. He looked at me with a soft smile "There are seats being set up in the ball room and we will be meeting everyone there in ten minutes, if you want to sort out the seating we better head there now." he says getting out of his seat offering me his hand. I take his and we go to the ball room, once I'm done I turn to the doors just as people start coming in.

Servers start coming in and placing nibbles and refreshments on the tables around the room, all the new comers start getting refreshments and taking seats waiting for our announcement. Blake heads towards us "Luna it is good to see you awake." he says with a bow "Alpha." he nods at Hunter "Blake stop with the Luna c**p." I say a little off sick of the Princess and Luna names. He grins at me "In situations like this I have to address you correctly, anyway I've spoken to their appointed leader and we have some information. Some of them have mates and children who were being held by Gregory and his pack, and some of them Gregory killed their families and forced them to join him." Blake explains.

I look at Hunter "Did you know any of this?" I question, he looks at me innocently "I didn't I swear, I never left your side." he pleaded for me to see his truth. I knew he was being honest but Blake scoffed "Yeah and anyone that entered the room you growled at and chased out." he says rolling his eyes. I look at Hunter and he is giving Blake daggers "Hey don't look at him like that, it's stuff like that I need to know. So I can try and make sure it doesn't happen again, ok?" I finish saying softly. Hunter and Blake both look away "You're too incredible." Hunter says under his breath before looking at me again.

I give him a smile and hold his hand "So Blake what did you do about this information?" I question Blake. Hunter looks at him expectantly "I sent one of them back to their camp with warriors, they have taken care of the un loyal males. The mates of those killed were told to take their children and leave and were told of packs awaiting to accept them, the mates and children of those here are packing up the camp with the warriors they didn't want to over step with the Queen unwell they are awaiting word to come." Blake finishes with a head bow.

I flung my arms around Blake as a thank you for handling everything in Hunter and I's absence, Hunter let out a low growl to which I slapped him on the chest and told him to be quite. He walked over to the stage grumbling to himself, and waited for me to join him. I walked up to the stage and we had our own refreshments, Hunter gets up and does me a coffee the way I like it. When he hands it to me "I'm sorry." he pouts like a child "What for?" I reply with a shrug, he looks at me surprised before sitting in his seat and nuzzling my neck.

He takes a big deep breath "Hmm Little Mate you smell divine." He whispers in my ear, sending me straight back to what I'm hoping was a vision and not just a dream. As good a dream as it was I want that to happen one day, I can only hope it does. Hunter lets go of me and I let out a contented sigh as I look up, everyone was almost seated and it was time to speak with them "Hunter do you trust me?" I quickly turn to him. His face lights up as he doesn't even hesitate to say "With my life Little Mate." I nod at him with a soft smile and take a deep breath getting ready to speak with the new comers.
