Chapter 99

Hope's POV

I have a clearing on the opposite side of the Kingdom to the Iris field, that place needs to stay pure for my babies. They will make memories there like I did in the gardens of my parents pack, the clearing has seating for witnesses and a ring for punishments. Everyone is seated waiting for me to step out, there is an idea of who the traitors are.

Of course everyone knows we have Stephan locked away, but there are only rumours of who his partner is. I step into the ring and call for silence "As many of you know yesterday at my Coronation, a child was taken, drugged and in-prisoned. Many of you know that Stephan is one of those behind this plot along with another, Samantha Black of the Hybrids was also just as involved if not more as she is the one that drugged and held the child." I pause to let that sink in as the crowd had started mumbling to themselves.

I took a breath "I have spoke with Samantha's brother and he agrees with my punishment for her, I also have him here so you can all witness that I will not lay a finger on him. As for Stephan he will be made an example of for you all to witness, traitors are not and never will be tolerated. We either live peacefully together or we die painfully alone." I finish with a growl.

Everyone was silent so I signalled the Guards to bring up the prisoners, as they stepped into the clearing heads lowered in shame to the crowd gasping. I don't think anyone believed it was either of them until they actually saw them, the traitors were placed on their knees and the cuffs on their hands attached to the floor.

I walk to stand in front of them "Do you both acknowledge the crimes you are being charged with?" I ask them and they both nod without looking at me, I can feel the disgust rolling off of Samantha. I look at Samantha "Samantha do you admit your part in this plan?" I ask her sternly.

She slowly lifts her head "You know it was me, and I would do it again if it meant I would be destroying you." she sneered causing the crowd to gasp in shock at her outburst. I shake my head at her "You have just signed you own death warrant." I whisper loud enough for her and Stephan to here. He looks at Samantha and shakes his head at her in disbelief.

I then look at Stephan "Stephan do you admit your own part in this plot against me?" I ask just a firmly. He gives me a soft smile "I do Queen Hope, I am sorry for the pain I caused you my intention was to love you not hurt you." he finished softly looking down. The crowd gasped again but Hunter growled with menace, and Samantha scoffed at Stephan's admission.

I turn to the crowd and look for Samantha's brother, when I spot him I signal him to come into the ring. When Samantha see's who the crowd is parting to allow through she starts shaking, when he steps up next to me she is like a rabid animal screaming and snarling at me. Her brother looks at her in disgust before shaking his head, I will accept any punishment you pass for her and I apologise she is not my family." he finished looking over his shoulder at Samantha with pure loathing.

Samantha was sobbing to her brother but he just turned away from her, I turned to the crowd "Now Samantha was going to be spared death but her words here today have made that decision change, but first I want you to watch what will happen to traitors." I turn back to Samantha and first I take her sight away.

I then project the scene I want her to watch, she is watching as I slowly torture her brother. She is screaming and begging for his life, the crowd are looking around confused so I push the projection to them all. I hear a collective gasp as everyone started seeing the torture that Samantha was watching happen to her brother, I then take the projection away from everyone but Samantha. All eyes go to her brother standing next to me completely unharmed, their wide eyes are then moving to me.

I stop the projection and Samantha can see everything as normal again, she looks around confused as her eyes met her brothers the shock was like nothing I have ever seen. She looked at me "Wh, what was that?" she asks with fear in her tone. I look at her then at the crowd "That is what you will see until the day I decide you die if you cross me, I am not the enemy unless you make me one." I finish with a growl. I can now see a few Alpha's starting to squirm not knowing if I know about their involvement.

I look back at Samantha and start walking towards her, I step behind her "I will make this quick." I whisper before snapping her neck. Her brother steps forward and addresses the crowd "The Queen made the right decision, Samantha could not be trusted to not do something again. Although I mourn the loss of my sister I celebrate the death of a traitor." he say's to everyone, he then turns to me and bends on his knee "My Queen you have my loyalty and support, I am happy to serve you." he says bowing his head.

I place my hand on his shoulder "Please stand." I ask him softly. He stands with a gentle smile on his face "I am truly sorry for you loss, if there is any way I can help you let me know please." I say to him softly, he bows his head to me again before I turn to Stephan. I sigh not happy about this punishment, don't get me wrong I'm not happy with any punishment but this is cruel.

I take a breath "Stephan do you accept your punishment for the crimes you committed?" I ask him sadly. He looks up at me "Of course Queen Hope." he says softly. I sigh again "There will be three parts of your punishment, one you will not be able to use your speed or strength. Two you are not to kill another living thing, and three I will be taking your fangs." I finish explaining keeping any emotion from my voice.

Everyone gasped again and Stephan looked at me like I might as well kill him "You will effectively live like any other human." I add to a completely shocked Stephan. I see a tear fall from his eye as he steadies his expression and looks me in the eye "A fair punishment." is all he says.

He looks at me and opens his mouth, Hunter linked me offering to do it but I need to show people that I will deal with them personally. I walk up to him and taking both fangs in each hand I rip them hard pulling them out, Stephan screeches in pain falling on his side. I force myself to look at him no matter how much I want to look away, I am fighting to keep my tears from escaping as Stephan's punishment is over.

I look around at the crowd and address them all "I know that some of the werewolf Alpha's here were involved in this, luckily only a small involvement. I want you to understand I am watching every move that you make, AND THESE ACTS WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN!" I shout at them all making sure my point gets across.

Before anyone can react I walk out of the ring with Hunter and walk back to our home, when I get to the center I look around and sigh at the destruction the fight has caused. I go straight to my babies and Hunter and I spend the rest of our day just the four of us.
