The Lost Alpha Princess

Chapter 16

Hope's POV

A noise behind me catches my attention and I spin around pointing the gun in the direction of the noise, my eyes are met with a very naked very shocked looking human Kane. He looks me in the eyes and says "Wow Selene can mess shit up when she takes control." I look at him with a frown on my face and shake me head, he opens his mouth and then closes it again. He dose this a few more times before finally saying "Are you telling me that you did this and Selene just stayed back?" "Yep." I replied through my mind making sure to pop the P.

Kane looks at the bodies then again at me with a shocked expression, "So what now?" I ask him. "I guess we clean the bodies away and set up camp for the night we might as well use this spot, it's starting to get dark anyway and I bet you could use something to eat and a rest." he replies.

Kane shifts into his wolf to go hunting for dinner while I get the fire started, it's a chance for me to just sit and take in the new world that I'm really not used to. I've got so many questions and now I can talk to Kane through my mind "It's called mind linking." Selene says and I can feel her rolling her eyes, "I knew that." I replied sarcastically.

"It's like you have forgotten everything you have read about our kind." she says with a bite to her tone, "If you haven't noticed I am experiencing all of this for the first time, so please do excuse me for not thinking of the little things." I snap back quite aggressively, I feel Selene whimper before saying "Sorry I did forget.... You have just been so strong through all of this, I have the Moon Goddess powers running through me and you seem to have pushed that aside. Ohh and I've known all about us so I guess it's second nature to me.".

I'm stopped from responding by Kane in wolf form with a deer hanging out of his mouth which he drops before grabbing his clothes and going behind a tree, he steps out fully dress with a smirk on his face "Know how to skin, prepare and cook a deer." he said slyly.

I looked at him and decided to have a little fun with him so I give him my doe eyes and shake my head while sighing, I hear him chuckle before saying "Well if her Highness doesn't mind getting dirty I'll teach her." he says smirking again, now it's my turn to smirk as I mind link back "Ha did it look like I minded getting dirty earlier?" he chuckles as he shakes his head at me.

"Come on lets get to work on this." he says handing me a skinning knife that we found on one of the rouges "Can I give it ago alone and if I'm doing it wrong you can help me?" I link Kane while putting my hands together as if to beg, he chuckles again before smirking at me and says "Sure thing little Princess.", I look down at the deer with a smirk of my own.

It takes me about ten minutes to skin and prepare everything for cooking, the whole time Kane has sat there silently looking in awe at my handy work. When I'm completely done I look at him with my smirk still in place "You were fucking with me the whole time weren't you?" he questions then he quickly adds "How the hell did you learn that in a fucking cell." he eyes me with a little suspicion now, I look him in the eye back and tell him honestly "When I was in there I was made to study and watch different things to learn everything, like how to fight, how to hunt and how to please a man." I whisper the last part looking away from him ashamed and embarrassed.

"Hey don't look like that it's not your fault and sorry for questioning you, it's just you learn not to trust everyone fully except your mate. But it's good that you have learnt all of them skills especially considering the space you had to do it in, honestly Princess not only do you keep surprising me but I'm completely in awe of you." he finishes as I look him back in the eye's. "Come on lets get dinner cooked then I can answer all the questions I know you have and you can get some rest before tomorrow." he says getting up and starting the cooking.

Whilst we're cooking I take the chance to get Kane to explain a few things to me, "Hey Kane how comes Selene and I can mind link you and Felix?" he looks up at me and smiles before saying "You know that pack wolfs can mind link right?" I nod. "Ok well you can only link with other members of your own pack only Alpha's can link outside of the pack, even then it's only to other Alpha's and they have to be on the same territory." he looks to make sure I'm following so I give him another nod.

"Well there's only one other that can mind link any wolf any where as long as they have seen the wolfs/humans face...." he trails off "Who?" I ask getting inpatient. He chuckles and say's "You, well the moon goddess.... As that's you now you and Selene all you have to do is look at the face of the person you want to link with then picture it in your mind and you'll be able to link them." he finished explaining.

Kane's POV

I quickly stand up and grab the deer to start cooking it, I'm worried because I will tell her, her name after dinner and I've got a feeling she is going to be angry as hell I didn't tell her before. I chance a couple of glances at her whilst I'm cooking but all I get is weary looks back, she's talking to Selene I can tell.

Once the deer is cooked we sit around the fire and eat in silence, she looks nervous and I can't help but wonder if she's worried about the answer's to her questions. After we have eaten I watch as the Princess battles some inner turmoil, she finally looks at me and mind links "Ok lets talk." I nod and say "Before we begin just remember that whatever I kept from you I did so you wouldn't get distracted and the fact that I only found them out a few hours before we left." I let out the breath I was holding and look at her hoping to see understanding in her eyes.

"Kane it's fine as long as I get the answer's I need." she links me with sad eyes I take another breath before saying "I found out your name a few hours ago it's a pleasure to be the one to help you escape Princess Hope." I look into her eyes as realization sinks in "M, m ,my name is Hope?" she whispers through mind link and all I can do is nod with a big smile on my face. "It make's sense not only are you the hope for a better future for all creatures, but you needed all the hope you could get to survive what you have for so long." I say with nothing but pure awe in my voice and eyes.

Hope has tears in her eyes and before I can react she has launched herself at me, flinging her arms around my neck as her tears finally spill over. I'm stunned at first but I quickly wrap my arms around her when I come to my senses "Thank you, thank you so much Kane. You have no idea how long I've wanted my name and you gave that to me so thank you." she sobbed through mind link while her tears fell down her cheeks and onto my chest.
