The Lost Alpha Princess

Chapter 17

Hope's POV

I awoke with a start not remembering how or when I fell asleep, I sat up and noticed I was in the mouth of the rouge cave and Kane was in the entrance sleeping sitting up. I then remembered what made me wake, the dream it felt so real. I was running away from Gregory like in most of my dreams, I remember running to a river and realising that is wasn't Gregory chasing me this time.

I spun around and was met with the most beautiful pair of black eye's I had ever seen as the moon light reflected off them they looked like black diamonds. Suddenly Gregory appeared and the wolf killed him like it was nothing as I run away from the wolf I woke up with those eyes ingrained into my memory. "Selene who was that?" I linked her hoping she woke when I did "That is our mate Hope." she replied softly and I could feel the stupid smile on her face "Are you purring?" I giggled at her, "No... No I wasn't shut up." Selene huffed at me.

I took another look around and sighed, there was no way I was sleeping again now, this was not something new I normally only got a few hours of sleep a night. Then again how could you sleep with someone screaming for help in the next cell for most of your life, I decided to sneak out for a little walk. "Hey Selene do you think you could help me get my voice back, it would be nice to speak with others using my mouth sometimes you know?" I ask as we're sneaking past Kane and out of the cave. "Ok why not, lets go far enough away so we can try and shout it might help." Selene smiles back in my mind.

We walk for about ten minutes hoping that it's far enough away to not wake Kane, "Ok I want you try and hum." Selene say's so I give it ago. It comes out really croaky but I manage to make a sound "Great." Selene say's happily in my head. "Now I want you to try and say no." Selene say's, I open my mouth and try but there is no sound so I try again and again and again until I finally manage a little squeak.

I stop for a moment to rub my now sore throat "That was great Hope, have a bit of water and don't stop until you say the word, no matter how croaky." Selene encourages. I take her advise and sip some water, then I take a deep breath and start again. After another hour I had managed a very squeaky 'No', I was so pleased with myself I was completely distracted.

By the time I smelt him it was too late he was already on top of me canines barred, growling with drool dripping in my face. I didn't know what to do so I tried to mind link him, Kane said I could do it with anyone as long as I had seen their face and his I could definitely see. So I pictured his wolf's face in my head and said "Stop now." but that only angered him more.

I was a little scared but couldn't show it so I tried again more forceful this time "I SAID STOP SO YOU WILL STOP WOLF." I growled at him and his wolf hesitated before whimpering slightly. That was all I need to lift both legs to my chest putting my feet on his chest and kicking him off me with all the strength I could muster, he flew about five feet away and was clearly winded when he landed giving me the chance to shift into Selene. "I need full control Hope so just relax I'll give it back as soon as he submits." Selene said before I felt myself being pushed to the back of my own mind, it was weird to be honest.

Selene lunged at the rouges throat and clamped her canines tightly around his jugular "Submit and we will let you live." Selene growls to the rouge wolf who has had control this whole time, "Never." his wolf struggles to say. "Can you not feel my power.... I will ask you once more then you die SUBMIT." Selene repeats and I can feel him cowering from her but still trying to resist.

Just as he is about to submit Kane walks out of the bushes with a confused and shocked look on his face, before he has a chance to say anything Selene growls lowly at him in warning. Kane bares his neck and lows his head to her in submission, seeing this the rouge finally gives up. "Now give control back to your human." Selene orders the rouge.

"Alpha what just happened?" asks Kane still a little confused about what he just walked in on, I open the link so both wolfs can hear me and respond "I was out here trying to get my voice back a little when...." Selene trails off looking down at the rouge "Name human and your wolfs as well." she asks him "Edward Alpha and my wolf is Evan." he whispers.

"When Edward here decided he was going to attack me." Selene finishes explaining with a huff as Kane lets out a growl at Edward who whimpers again. "Enough Kane." says Selene through the link "Yes Alpha." Kane replies bowing his head, "How are you talking to me through mind link and how do you know what she's saying?" Edward asks pointing at Kane.

With a sigh Kane looks him straight in the eye and asks "Ever heard of the lost princess prophecy?" Edward looks at Selene and then at Kane before nodding "Well do I need to spell it out?" Kane asks sarcastically, Edward's eyes widened as he slowly turns to look at Selene before dropping to his knee bowing his head.

"Alpha Princess please forgive Evans behaviour we have been away from home for so long sometimes he forgets he is not actually a rouge." Edward explains, "Please stand I will give control back over to Hope and shift back." Selene responds before walking behind a tree Kane quickly takes his shirt off and puts it next to the tree so Hope can cover herself a little.

"Well that was interesting" I say to Selene as I feel her pulling me forward and pushing herself back "I won't need to do that too often but when I do you must trust that I know what I am doing, there will be times I will need to do that without explaining so you just have to let it happen like you did then ok?" Selene asks a little worried.

"Selene I trust you with my life, I promise if I ever feel you trying to do anything quick I will just let it happen and will not fight against you." I promise her as I feel fully in control again. I quickly shift back and grab the shirt Kane dropped for me slipping it over my head before stepping out in front of Kane and Edward.

"I should of known from your wolfs colour who you were please Alpha forgive me, if I had known I swear I would have stopped sooner." Edward starts as soon as I step out, I look at him and chuckle to which he gives me a confused look. That just makes me laugh harder, I don't know why I'm laughing so I pull myself together.

Even Kane has a smirk on his face, "So are you a threat to me or my queen?" Kane questions with an eyebrow raised and a stern look on his face. Edward looks between us both a little panicked before replying "No... No absolutely not I promise if you let me come with you I will explain everything, I've been looking for you for a long time Princess.... Please just give me a chance to explain." he begged. Kane looked at me and I gave a slight nod, he was telling the truth I don't know how I know but me and Selene both agree that he was being honest.

As we get back to camp Kane asks "Princess Hope did you manage to say anything before..... You know?" he nods towards Edward who has his head down "Yes." I manage to croak out and Kane stares at me with a mixture of pride and happiness while Edward looks completely confused, I look at Kane and sigh whilst tilting my head in Edwards direction.

Kane must understand what I mean because he jumps into action instantly "Ok Princess Hope." "Just Hope." I interrupt him through the link, he rolls his eyes at me and starts again "Ok JUST Hope is going to rest for a while and I will explain things to you Edward, once you're up he can answer any questions you have JUST Hope." he finishes with a smirk. I stick my tongue out and roll my eyes at him before I turn and walk into the cave for a few more hours sleep all this excitement has drained me.
