"Can you hand me the salad?" Rika asked him.
Zack nodded. The celebration was in full swing. A few weeks after Aleks had been more or less exposed as an angel in front of the entire world, some calm had finally returned.
Aleks and his mate had invited all their friends to a party in their garden. Unfortunately, a certain demon with different colored eyes was also part of it. Although he sat at the very end of the table, Zack could feel his looks. I have already made it clear to him that I don't want to be near him. Why can't he accept it? Zack had already felt something from the first encounter. Something about him was different. He couldn't say what it was – but he wasn't interested in finding out either.
He enjoyed the time of rest. Aleks beamed over both ears and visibly had fun. Zack chatted with Ariana and Lyric and discussed treasures and artifacts. Again, he felt heat in his neck.
"Go to him and talk to him," Astaroth said. Lucan winced.
"He made it clear to me that he didn't want me around him," he whispered with a painful undertone. He had intercepted Zack at their last meeting after Aleks' revival at Ariana's mansion. However, he hadn't come far. Zack had made it clear to him with a cold smile and a "stay away from my body" that he could do without his company. His inner cat had hissed. His two halves had behaved strangely since they first saw Zack – kind of scratched.
The thing that drove his cat crazy the most was Zack's irresistible scent. He immediately realized that Zack was a succubus, which had surprised him. Male succubi were very rare. Therefore, he could understand the disgust in his eyes even less. What had Lucan done to deserve such disgust for him? Was it his race? His appearance? He didn't know, but it bugged him. Like an itch in a place where you couldn't scratch yourself. What are you doing to me? Why do I feel such a desire for you?
Astaroth sighed. "You are the leader of my second legion. You have fought and won hundreds of battles. Will you let such a small obstacle stop you?" his prince said.
Lucan knew he had been right. He would launch an attack, but for that, he needed a plan. He had to work out a strategy that made it impossible for his prey to escape. He breathed Zack's scent again – the scent of lilies and honey – licked his lips and smiled. His hunting instincts were awakened. "Don't worry, I'll start hunting soon. Soon."
A few weeks later...
Zack stepped through the door that led from the entrance hall to a reception room for guests. Honestly, he had never seen this from the inside. Why did they order me? He was worried that something might be wrong with Aleks. But instead of a worried face, he was greeted by his brother's radiant smile. He stood up and embraced him intimately. God, I missed him, my little angel. Zack smiled and they sat down. Belial nodded to him once, that was the greeting. His brother sat down with his mate and leaned against him. Then he took a deep breath. What's next?
"Zack, you're probably wondering why we asked you, right?" Aleks asked.
He nodded and replied, "I suspect it has something to do with the prophecy."
Belial agreed. "That too, but before that, there's something Aleks wants to tell you."
Now he was confused. What did his brother want to tell him?
"Zack, I... how can I say it... um."
Zack frowned.
"Ok. Zack, you're going to be an uncle," Aleks said, and his cheeks took a slight redness.
Uncle? Well, if it's nothing more... Wait. What? "What?" He couldn't really have said that. Aleks can't...
"I'm pregnant," Aleks said.
