Chapter 22 - Thank the gods

The others got to the main body, it sprinted off so out of anger Genya tossed a few trees at it. The demon yelped and as Tanjiro caught up, it then grew in size and grabbed him by the face. Suddenly Genya ripped its hand to shreds and Nezuko burnt it. The flames also burnt Genya for some reason, Patata got past them all and he tried slicing the demon's head off. The demon twisted around and knocked him aside, Marko sliced its arm off with his crimson red blade, they all began following, they fell off a cliff. Genya managed to keep himself up with Marko while the others fell, Tanjiro hit the side of the cliff and passed out. Patata and Nezuko landed on the floor, the demon got up and started running towards some swordsmith, Patata's sword had gotten destroyed when the demon crushed it, he picked up a shard of the blade and tossed it at the demon.

Meanwhile the other three were fighting off Zohakuten, Kanroji got her mark and her speed increased drastically. Zohakuten split into four as Patata got closer to the main body. He noticed Nezuko began burning, he turned around and covered her with his haori trying to protect her from the sun while on the other hand Beerus protected Kamanue. Tanjiro woke up but he didnt have enough strength to move, the demon chased the humans and Patata had a hard choice. Suddenly Patata was tossed ahead by Nezuko and passed Yorrichi Zeroshiki's sword by Muichiro, he landed on his feet and he chased the demon with tears coming from his eyes. He sliced the demons head off and fell to the ground, he tried getting up but he ran out of stamina, all of a sudden he noticed the demon chasing the humans since its head was resentment and not fear. He tried getting up but immediately fell down, he stood up and his mark burned on his face as it was slowly fading. He sensed the demon to be in the big demons heart, so he used the last of his strength to slice the demons arms off and slash Hantengu's head off by slicing the heart.

Hantengu turned to dust as Patata slashed his heart, he fell to the floor and passed out. He woke up to warm hands on his face, it was Nezuko even though the sun rose she was still alive.

[Patata] - Y-you're alive! Thank the gods! Are you alright? You're human now- no you have fangs... and your eyes... -
[Nezuko] - Th-Thank gods! -
[Patata] - Hehe.

Tanjiro rushed them and hugged them both, he was crying tears of joy. Kamanue got inside the box he had and Beerus picked it up before walking off towards the others. Mid, Genya, Loop, Mitsuri, Tanjiro, Muichiro, Kotetsu, Hotaru, Kanamori, Marko, Nezuko and Patata all hugged. The other demons were somewhere in the forest, Beerus had noticed that and was surprised they hadn't died. He rushed into the forest and found them.

[Beerus] - You bastards! -
[Karaku] - We're fre- huh-!? -
[Sekido] - He's alive!? -
[Beerus] - How are you guys alive? -
[Sekido] - Long explination... -
[Beerus] - Oh so if you guys are free, do you wanna join Kamanue and i? -
[Sekido] - God no! Like we wou- -
[Aizetsu] - Fine. -
[Sekido] - Who is in charge? -
[Aizetsu] - I'll join him if you wont.. -
(Loop) - He really accepted!? They are that desperate.. Im happy Beerus is alive but he cant be getting a bunch of demons to join him. Lower six alright fine i guess, but that's the one that killed him! I hope he's bringing them out to the sun so they can die... -
Tanjiro started tending to Patata's wounds, Patata officially became a hashira, aswell as Mid. Tanjiro became Loop's tsuguko, Genya decided to become Mid's tsuguko, Milk became Gyomei's tsuguko and Inosuke became Marko's tsuguko. Urokodaki was training another kid who might be important later on.

[Patata] - Im happy to be alive... hm... where are the others? They just left without a word? -
[Tanjiro] - I dont know! But we just beat upper moon five and four!! -
[Patata] - I wanna go home... -
[Tanjiro] - We haven't even gotten our new swords! Well i guess you got yours, being that sword you used. -
[Patata] - I couldn't- it was meant for you! -
[Tanjiro] - But you can still keep it! Beerus needs one aswell... i wonder who is swordsmith is... Well i doubt he'd use the sword he was gifted in his travels, considering its very weak and old... But you can keep this one! -
[Patata] - What? Beerus? Oh right- he came back... -
He rubbed tears from his eyes.
[Patata] - This sword, it's black just like yours. So you should be the one to keep it! -
[Tanjiro] - It's got some red though, so it would most fit- -
[Patata] - I use water. And your hinokami kagura or what Loop calls sun breathing is more related to that colour than water. -
[Tanjiro] - Right... I guess so... I'll happily take the sword if you don't want it, but i just thought it would be rude considering you were the one to use it. Plus it might become a light orange or something, it's only gone through the first stage of being made. -
[Patata] - Ehh i doubt it. Where is Marko...? -
[Marko] - Right here. -
[Patata] - Oh thank god... Well i'll have to talk to Kamenashi to get my new sword... -
[Tanjiro] - It'll be a great sword... Hmm, who knew i'd meet someone like you... You're an amazing friend... -
He laid next to Patata.
[Patata] - Thanks... Though i think we should get back to the village to check on everyone. -
[Swordsmith 1] - Oh thank you guys! We were evacuated from the village, but when we were there... a lot of people were injured and some even dead. -
[Kanroji] - When i arrived i managed to take out most of the them before Loop finished them off! -
[Kotetsu] - They came from the fish guy, luckily Muichiro-san and... uhh... -
[Mid] - As weird of a name it is... Just call me Mid, or you can call me the god of fighting. - He giggled.
[Kotetsu] - I see. Well thank you again for saving me from that fowl demon! He was really rude! -
[Kanroji] - The fish guy... Well the those demons did smell of fish, and i don't normally see many talking demons, and if it got Muichiro and Mid injured im guessing it was an upper moon? -
[Mid] - Upper moon five, Gyokko was his name. He was disgusting and made his so called "art". -
[Kotetsu] - It was made out of dead swordsmith, and he even injured me! -
[Kanroji] - Oh, how rude of him! -
She hugged Kotetsu, he blushed.
(Mid) - Tch- lucky kid. He was actually quite helpful, i respect him. -
[Mid] - Kotetsu actually helped out, he threw a knife at Gyokko which allowed me to get close to him, then he ran like a coward. -
[Patata] - You should give the sword to Hotaru and let him decide who gets it... i need to rest... -
