There was a clear divide between the clones. The Bad Batch stood to the side but closer to Crosshair who had sunk to the floor in pain and he leaned back against Hunter’s chest while Tech and Wolffe assessed his injuries. Wrecker stood behind his teammates with the children clinging to his legs. Rex’s group stood opposite staring at the lightsaber welder, who grinned at the attention he was receiving. Howzer had moved from the middle slightly closer to Wolffe but still to the side.
Rex was impatiently tapping his foot watching Howzer for an explanation. The only clones that didn’t seem to be bothered much were Thorn and Gregor who seemed to be having a stare off from Omega’s point of view. Having had enough of the silence, Rex asked, “Why is Darth Maul here?”. Howzer turned to speak when the rough voice of Darth Maul stopped him.
“Captain Rex, Commander Tano it has been a while”.
“Not long enough Maul”
“Now don’t be like that padawan” “Hey, you can’t talk to Ahsoka like that?” “Rex enough, let’s find out why he is here?”. Rex nodded at Ahsoka, feeling her small hand grasp his in comfort. Maul smirked at the behaviour of the clones watching their fingers twitch for the triggers on their guns unconsciously. Ahsoka met his smirk with a glare, he wasn’t fazed. Taking a deep breath he turned to the bad batch and looked over them all before turning to Crosshair. “Crux has been spotted near Ord Mantell, you better be careful. This device has everything you need. Let me know if you need aid again. Oh before I go. Ahsoka and Rex I would love an invitation to your wedding, it would be a blast!”. Maul chuckled giving Crosshair the device before throwing down a smoke bomb and vanishing from sight. Leaving several clones to start coughing at the smoke trying to enter their lungs, thank god for helmets.
Crosshair groaned once the smoke had cleared, he leant further into Hunter trying to get away from Techs' prodding hands on his ribs. Hunter noticed Crosshair’s change of body language and turned to Tech. “Tech, would you mind easing off him. We can sort this back out at the ship”. Tech nodded gladly accepting Wolffe’s hand to help him off the floor. Hunter with Wreckers help managed to get Crosshair into a standing position who grimaced in pain. Hunter allowed Crosshair to lean further into him when the bad batch turned to face Rex’s group. Rex angrily whipped his helmet off his head, the clone who was a prisoner earlier was standing next to him and from what Crosshair remembered he was called ‘Jesse’ stood beside him with his arms crossed looking a bit glum.
The two groups found themselves in a standoff. Slowly Jesse started to raise a blaster towards the bad batch discreetly without anyone realising. Rex with no hesitation advanced forward and without warning punched Crosshair straight across the face, making the man stumble backwards. Wrecker grabbed the man before he could cause anymore damage to his brother who was going to be called colours at this rate from the bruises he will be receiving soon. Echo yelled angrily, “Why the hell did we accept you back, if it was my decision. I would have left you with the Empire!”. Crosshair hissed, avoiding Tech’s hand before shaking his head in pain. Standing as tall as he could, Crosshair moved away from his batch members before picking his children up and grabbing Omega’s hand. He started in the direction of the Havok Marauder and his personal favourite ‘Special Forces TIE Fighter’. He heard the cries of his name coming from the group yelling at him, Crosshair knew Kamino wasn’t safe anymore and one thing he knew it certainly wasn’t safe for the children. Omega held on tighter to his hand when he approached the Havok Marauder and the steps instantly came down.
In the distance he heard the yelling of his batch-mates and Rex's group arguing with one another. Drawing out the argument, Crosshair grabbed his case and bag, while Omega grabbed her spare bag in case of emergencies. She put it right next to Crosshair’s. He was so focused on his task he didn’t hear the three sets of footsteps coming up the stairs, jumping when an arm appeared on his shoulder. Crosshair turned around with both children in his arms to find Hunter, Tech and Wrecker looking at him confused as well as his bag.
