A grim silence fell over the room, no one dared to speak as the two once lovers fought a battle of a lifetime. One against the darkness while the other bended it to their will. Surrounding them wasn’t the initial darkness but the lights of hope, it was like a maze of colours had sprung on their trap. Time dragged on until 45 minutes had passed, those left in the room had made themselves comfortable. Memories floated between the two almost like a door was between the two in the trance.
Rex watched with fear as his brother's face twisted in pain while he was mentally assaulted. The captain had the urge to stand up and reach for his brother but a firm hand on his wrist kept him seated in between Shaak Ti and Ahsoka. The others watched as Commander Cody’s face twisted through the evident pain, the commander remained rigid with his arms crossed across his chest.
Inside the mental battle…
A barrier sat in the middle of two figures, it was a door. Two individuals sat against it but on opposite sides, the darkness stopping them from crossing over.
“Let me in, trust me. I’m here like I always am”
Obi-one sighed as his vision clouded with the darkness, he couldn't believe it. What had he just done?! Placing his head in his hands, Obi-one cried out loud, his vulnerabilities being used by the darkness which continued to laugh at him.
“Love, let me in, please”
Obi-one perked up, where was he? Who was that? Looking around, Obi-one gasped as he was sitting against a black door, he gave it a knock only to receive one in return.
“Who’s there?!” He demanded only to receive silence.
“Love, please”
“CODY!” Obi-one shouted instantly, recognising the cry of help. The jedi master shook the dark thoughts from his head as he called on the force.
“HELP!” There it was again, Cody’s voice crying out for help. No! He couldn’t let him down now! Obi-one shook his head as memories played in his head, particular ones to do with his commander, the one he had fallen in love with over the many years. A letter that stuck to him glue, a few words from his dearest commander always stuck in his head, ‘You do know you're not only vital to the mission but vital to me’. Obi-one took a deep breath listening to the cheesiest line that had come out of his partner's mouth.
A scream of pure pain followed by, “KENOBI! WAKE UP!!” created a blinding light to fill his vision.
The door shattered as the darkness disappeared, Obi-one turned around to see a smirking teary eyed Cody standing with his arms crossed and a familiar smirk on his face.
Reaching forward, a white light like no other filled his vision…
Rex gasped, lurching forward when Cody’s body crumpled to the floor. Jesse lunged at the same time, the two caught their brother. The Commander hadn’t moved even when they tried to wake up. “Move out of the way!” Kix called out, the medic was furious for a reason unknown to Rex, the captain quickly moved allowing Kix some room to work. Jesse smirked watching Kix work.
“Urgh, what happened?” Obi-one groaned behind them all as Ahsoka and Shaak Ti helped the jedi master to his feet. He turned to survey the room only to gasp at who lay on the floor in front of him, quickly he scrambled over to his love. Jesse was forced to grab Kix around the waist so the medic didn’t get trampled on by the frantic jedi master. According to Howzer, Kix did not look happy but opted to remain in Jesse’s lap, the arc trooper didn’t seem bothered so he just allowed the medic. Rex only smiled at his brother's so-called ‘hidden’ relationship.
